ClumsyDude...Rosie O'Donnell did SEUSSICAL while her talk show was on the air...that didn't seem to be a problem. I doubt this will.

While all these names that are being thrown around are great (well not Bernadette Peters we need a long break from her!),the cost of some of these actresses would make the whole project unviable. And how about Joanna Gleeson in the Diane Keaton role?

As far as Shoshana goes...I think she'd be great for Brenda...in about thirty years. Now? NO.

I would like to see Victor Garber, and DEFINITELY Roger Bart as the Gay designer! And what about Norbert as Annie's husband? Is he old enough?

No ideas for Brenda's husband... any thoughts?

OMG - Comparing Bernadette Peters to Patti Lupone is insaine. Of course we all have our favorite...but Im sorry, listen to their solo albums and tell me you dont HAVE to shut off Lupone's long before Peters. That voice only can only be heard in small doses. Its reminicent of the Merm's.

You cannot compare Bernie and Patti at all. It is like apples and oranges. They are very different performers.

I agree with WonderBoy. They are different in their ways. We all have our favorites. I would like to see Bernadette in a new role, hopefully of a good show. Well this be one?

What about the guy who played Mushnik in the Little Shop revival as Brenda's husband? I'm drawing such a loss on this role... I could almost see Harvey, but he's just too tall I think! What about Lea Delaria? lol... I love her...

As for Brenda? I still have my heart set on Megan ::) She is god...

I love Patti Lupone and Bernadette Peters. They both have their particular Broadway style of singing and they may sound different to us theatre fans but I think most common folk(which I'm proud to say we are not) probably don't think they are all that different.

I'm not saying that I don't like Bernie but...
Have you lost touch with reality?!?!? Kinda funny how Patti has been in more plays on Broadway than musicals and she cannot act, huh? Bernie was in two plays early on in her career. One lasted one single performance the other four and she was an understudy. You have obviously never seen Patti on stage before. There is no doubt that the woman is a fine actress.

PS: She was also trained at Julliard.

you peopel ar so touchy ....... I liek them both they are both very good...... I think the thing that is dffrent between them is Patti spells everythign out to the audience and Bernadette has more of an Aloof charecter take....... in lame mans turns... Patti gives you everything and Bernadette makes you think...

One word: N O ! ! ! I saw her in London both in CHICAGO and THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK and she may be good in a drama/musical role but she definitely CAN'T do comedy! Both Roxie and Sukie were over-acted and the latter character was more like a juvenile bimbo who's IQ was lower than low! She was by far the worst actor in the whole show. And her Roxie... let's just say that I've seen the show many times with several casts and Maria still is the worst Roxie I've ever seen.

I have no doubt she is great actress in a more serious and dramatic role like Mother in RAGTIME or MARIAN in THE WOMAN IN WHITE, but trust me, you don't want to see her do comedy!

I believe the 'old lady' character (Maggie Smith in the movie)is Gwenilla (spelling may be off). How about Stritch for that role on stage?

As for the leads, Megan Mullaly as Elise, Joanna Gleason as Annie, and Andrea Martin as Brenda.
