I cannot see Queen Latifah in this show at all. She would not fit. First of all, I cannot see her starting out as a weaker woman that becomes empowered(she's too strong). Now I would love to see Megan Mullaley as Brenda(Bette Midler), Bernadette Peters as Elise(Goldie Hawn), and I actually really liked the idea of Joanna Gleason as Annie(Diane Keaton). Then of course, Carol Channing as the old woman.

I've been waiting for Bernadette to originate a role again for years! This is the perfect vehicle for her.

OOTI - I think you have the roles confused. Elise is the vain, botoxed, surgically preserved actress, and Brenda is the frumpy Jewish housewife. Bernadette looks older than almost every other actress suggested for the cast (except Stritch and Channing).

Yes, but as Rosie taped her talk show in New York City, I believe Megan is taping hers in Los Angeles. NOT going to happen, as much as I would love it to.

I would LOVE if Victor Garber came back to play his role on the stage, I thought he was hysterical in the film version.

What about Sara Gettlefinger (sp?) for the Sarah Jessica Parker role?

If you're going to bring Stockard Channing back, why not bring back all three original first wives from the movie ?

Keaton and Midler have both appeared in Broadway musicals and Goldie Hawn has extensive experience as a singer and dancer.

No madbrain, I would love to see Bernadette play Elise (the vain, botoxed...actress). I think she could be very funny in that part, and although she is one of the oldest actresses mentioned, I think she is still beautiful. I can also see Megan Mullaley playing the frumpy jewish housewife.

I agree. With Bernadette's cleavage the breast implant jokes/references our limitless. It could be a really fun role for her where she can poke fun at her "agelessness".

I agree. I'd like to see Peters as Elise, Joanna Gleason as Annie, and Mary Testa as Brenda.

For the Sarah Jessica Parker role, I agree, Sara Gettlefinger could do it, but I think Laura Bell Bundy would be even better (although she'll be doing "Legally Blonde"..)

I think the best cast for this would be Bernadette Peters as Goldie Hawn's character, Patti LuPone as Bette Midler's, and Joanna Gleason as Diane Keaton's. And how about Sherie Renee Scott as Sarah Jessica Parker's part?

What is it with people talking about Maria Friedman. Sure she's good - but she's hardly in the same league as Bernadette Peters, Megan Mullally and Stockard Channing. These are CLASSIC wenches!

I have nothing against Friedman, but I don't think even she would argue with me.

York and Scott are too old for both the Berkley and/or Parker roles. Those characters are supposed to be very young. In their 20's at the oldest (in fact, the Berkley character is revealed to be 16 masquerading as 23.)
