thismyshow, you are indeed a dedicated rush-er! It'd be nice if they gave out something better but I guess it's still cheaper than TDF...let us know how you like it.

its student rush
@april its about where I sat for Rain so yeah, its not a TERRIBLY big theater so it shouldnt be a huge issue and for 27 bucks im good with it.

So during previews Catch Me If You Can offers a text in contest where you can get a "seat upgrade" theres ainsert in the playbill where you text a code to a certain number then they choose a winner 5 minutes before curtain. I entered tonight and ended up winning went from row P in the mezzanine to Row F in the orchestra :) not bad.
So for $27 you got a full view in row f of the orchestra?
Wow, impressive!

Thanks, thismyshow, for the rush info.
Is there any info yet about whether they're doing a lottery, too?

You are so excited about the rush stuff that you forgot to tell us how the show was!
What did you think?
For the record, got to the box office at 1 and got 2 tickets for the matinee. They didn't even ask for my student ID. There was about 6 empty rush seats next to us. The seats were fine, but we were moved to the boxes at intermission because there was an obnoxious school group crinkling their food the whole time. So annoying.
Got row O mezz this morning at 10. Moved to row C at intermission :). Lots of empty seats rear mezz sides.
As for the show, a missed opportunity. Score was bland and forgettable and for something I had such high expectations for it was a real let down.
I was also there today, the performers are top notch and the music is great, I just feel that it was a terrible choice to turn this movie/story into a Broadway musical.
Kerry Butler had the biggest reaction from the audience after her number. She's always amazing.
Second in line this morning. Got seats in rear mezzanine. BUT my friend won the ticket upgrade texting contest thing so we were moved to 6th row on the aisle right before the show started.
Absolutely adored the show. I'll post full review on the preview thread tomorrow afternoon.

@americanboy that texting thing is the best, i feel they give it too who ever is furthest back in the theater who texted them

Rushed this morning, got there around 9:20ish and there were 4 people in front of me. By the time it hit 10, there were probably a total of 11 people in line. They didn't check my friend's non-student ID and it's cash only. Easily got 5 seats together.
So glad that everyone seemed to like the show! I'm seeing it next Friday and am very excited!

thoughts on Catch Me If You Can: broadway fluff, Aaron tveit as Frank is charismatic but he dosnt seem to be singing as strongly as he did in N2N. Norbert Leo Butz is good but he is essentially doing a really good tom hanks impression. The score is a mix of 60s music which besides a few songs are forgettable. there's also some book & set issues, unfortunately if tony voters go traditional this year, this will probably win best musical. I plan on rushing tomorrow morning. Do you think 9:30 would be alright? Sorry to be "that guy" but it never hurts to ask. Thanks!
My friend went today and got there at 8:45 and they were the first people in line! When the box office opened, she said there were about 14 or so people
