Can he even sing? I get that he owns that role acting wise, but you know ... this is Broadway lol.

Has anyone seen the show with Chazz yet? Very curious how he handles the music!
I would see this with him in it. Saw him do this as a one man show on tour. Meet and chatted with him at a reception after and he seems very laid back and humble. Made me like him more. I keep meaning to see this show anyway.

HA! Love this.
But Stormy Daniels as Roxie Hart though...
I saw it with Chazz tonight. No one's going to mistake him for a professional singer, but he can still carry a tune enough to sell the performance. The fact that Palminteri knew the real Sonny and this is his story, it added an emotional layer that wouldn't be possible with a different actor. (I haven't seen Nick Cordero in the role, but based on the soundtrack he's clearly a much, much better singer.)
The $39 rush ticket I got ended up being in the front row, and I know they also started a digital lottery today, so if anyone's curious, you can probably get a decent seat without breaking the bank.
Hey Jonathan--thanks for your report. Are most rush tickets allocated for the front row for this show? And if so, how are the sight lines being that close? Thanks!

"soundtrack"??????
I don't know for sure if all rush tickets are front row, but they are stamped "partial view" so the venue definitely views them as less desirable. Other than a lamppost that blocks a couple of front row center seats for two numbers, it's really more weird angles as opposed to obstructed view. If the actors are directly in front of you at the edge of the stage, you have to arch your head up to see their faces. Also, I had an aisle seat that was event closer to the stage, and I was a tiny bit worried that one of the dancers was accidentally going to slip and kick me in the face. Not that I really thought that was going to happen, but it's close enough to think about it.
Overall I was really happy with my seat, especially at that price but it's definitely not a case where front row equals the best seats in the house.
Regarding the soundtrack, I just meant I had separately listened to the Original Broadway Cast Recording of A Bronx Tale, and Nick Cordero, who still plays Sonny on weekends, is clearly a much better singer in the role.
Chazz is absolutely terrific!!! He should have played the part from the beginning!!!

I realize this post is almost a month old, but he actually has an okay voice. I worked on a movie with him where he sang a few songs. It was called Once More With Feeling
Wow schubox! You must have lots of great (or crazy?) stories from Hollywood. I'd love to hear them.

Yes. And it was clearly a joke, Oak shouldn't go anywhere near Broadway again. (My opinion.)"
TOTALLY AGREE. He went off to do and ruin tv shows.

TOTALLY AGREE. Oak's off ruining tv shows with his acting. Great Comet off to London in 2019, thankfully without Oak.

How is Chazz in this? Is it worth seeing again for him?

I won the lottery so I didn’t know Chazz was in the show when I went. (Which, the lottery is pretty easy to win and we were 3rd row mezz.) He’s a great actor, but not that good of a singer. I would recommend entering the lottery for the shows he’s in and you’ll probably win for one of the shows. (Also if you haven’t seen Adam Kaplan as Calogero, I would definitely recommend it!)
