Hey,
I'm headed to NYC with some family and want to take my mom to see A Little NIght Music and Promises, Promises...any advice for the most affordable tickets. Any discount codes, tips, etc. would be much appreciated!

Promises has a rush, but when I walked by the theater last Sunday around 11:30, there were at least 50 people lined up.
Thanks for the advice thusfar.Broadwaybox has great deals on the more expensive seats, but they still don't work out as affordable as the cheaper seats. But definitely a great resource to know about.

Because the cheap seats are already cheap.
The only way you are going to do better than any discounts that are/become available on b'way box (or similar) is for rush tix which are only day of.
Day of at TKTS usually works out to be about the same

I got an email yesterday for Night Music--$79 orchestra & first mezz seats thru September 5. Code LMNYT79.
I'm in the same boat as you...those are my top two shows for my September trip and "Promises" sounds like it's going to be tough to get into. "NIght" is at about 80% capacity right now so you might be able to score that at TKTS.
Too old for student rush here so that's out of the question.
For what it's worth, if you know any students who are theater lovers, you could treat them to the show. The cost of two student rush tickets is still cheaper than one discounted ticket.

Well, sorry, but unless you can do rush, those are probably the cheapest you will get for orchestra seats, and TKTS will be about the same. You are probably better off shopping for rear mezzanine seats.
None of the shows are selling out, so get them the day of. You will find a better deal on TKTS or buying rear mezz seats as Millie Says. ALNM tix are very easy to get, you can get them minutes before the show starts.
If you're going to go to TKTS, then you're better off just going to the box office with the discount code. With the fees, you will pay around $72 at TKTS for Night Music. For just $7 more, you can go to the box office with the code and choose your own seats. TKTS doesn't really give you that option.

Thanks everyone! Very helpful stuff.
This might be stupid question but: if I end up buying the day of at ther theatre...what are the fees like? Are there any? If so how do they compare to telecharge.com?

There are no fees associated with buying tickets directly from the box office.

Nota bene: about those cheap rear mezz seats in the Broadway--if someone remotely long waisted sits in front of you, the stage is effectively blocked, and I am tall. It is one of the worst rear mezzs that I can think of. The further back in the rear mezz you go, the worse it gets and it is a huge rear mezz.
The very cheap seats in the Walter Kerr are in a tiny second balcony where you are almost cantilevered over the stage, it is so steep.
In both cases, buyer beware.
