I was supposed to see Kristin Chenoweth this weekend, but she's ill. As filler's Megan Hilty & Julia Murney have stepped in for the concert. I'm not very familiar with the two artist, other than their names. What would you do? Cancel and get a refund, or go anyway? Thanks.
What is it with Cincy (The Music Hall), when Bebe was here she was sick also. Ugh!

No question, if it was me, I would gladly go.

I would also go. They're both great performers.
I do love Me some Murney. For my money I'd pay to see a concert of hers over Cheno's, any day.
Go-You might actually be pleasantly surprised and find a couple of more artists you might enjoy.

It's Chenoweth.
I'd go. Megan is one of my favorite Galindas and I loved her in 9 to 5, and Julia is fantastic as well.

I am so disappointed.... I hope she feels better and that I will get the chance to hear her in concert sometime soon. I was very much looking forward to this!
Julia Murney is amazing. Go.

Sorry to hear that Kristin is sick, but Megan and Julia are two of my absolute favorites. I'd definitely go.
Sorry about my spelling, I was in a hurry this AM. It's corrected.
I'm very disappointed, but I'll go and have a good time. I hope she will reschedule for later this year or next.
While I LOVE Julia Murney and Megan Hilty...I find it funny that they are replacing her for what was suppose to be Cheno's concert. But still, go...unless the only reason you wanted to go was to see the Emmy winner herself.

Saw Kristin, and her show was great, but short (not quite an hour). Megan and Julia - holy crap, GO, GO, GO!!!!!!!!!
After dismay, I'm looking forward to this change of events. Thanks for the advice. Kristin has been here before, and I'm sure she will again.
Okay, I'm going to dare to have a different opinion here.
Julia Murney, in my opinion, is one of the most overrated performers on Broadway (if you count Lennon and a Wicked replacement gig as being a Broadway regular). Fine voice but little substance IMO. Hilty BORES me. I've only seen her give copycat performances and I think she lacks star quality. I think she should just play Glinda for the rest of her career.
Neither is remotely in the same league as Chenoweth and I would personally demand my money back if they were announced as her replacement. It says something that they had to get two people to replace Chenoweth.
But both ladies have huge followings on here, so there's that.

Having never ssen Megan or Julia in anything but Wicked, I can't say how they will be in a "concert" setting. But, really, Megan bores you, BobbyBuddy? Que sera, sera.
How much were the tickets, TheBoyFromOhio? I paid $95 for less than an hour of KC - worth every penny.

I would rather see Julia over Kristin any day. Kristin is so overrated. I can't even watch her perform. Definitely go see it for Julia - you will be blown away.
I don't think it says anything other than star power. Chenoweth is obviously a bigger name than both of those, so they are taking a chance that people who have heard of Kristin have heard of at least one of them.
Honestly I'm not sure what I paid per ticket. I bought 6 or 7 concerts (x2 seats) at the same time last spring/summer. Money isn't really my concern after thinking about it and will go and experience artist that I would probably not see otherwise.
isingbaritone, I can't respond to your PM. Unblock your PM's.
You should definately go. 2 talented ladies for the price of 1. Kristin's been really sick for a while now. I hope she gets better soon.
They're not even remotely in the same league as Chenoweth in terms of uniqueness and interpretation.

I can't say anything for Ms. Hilty, as I've never seen her perform, but I've seen Ms. Murney a number of times in various venues and she's never disappointed me. I hope you go and enjoy.
Bobby, though I disagree with your assessment of Ms. Murney, I do agree that Ms. Chenoweth is an incredible performer and hope she makes a fast and full recovery.
All three are really great nut Chenoweth is in her own league.
A totally honest response: Megan Hilty is a lovely singer and a fun actress, but not a hugely original performer. Her interpretations of songs are good but not extraordinarily memorable. Julia Murney has an unusual voice that does not necessarily sound 'pretty' (she's difficult to describe... youtube her), but she puts so much emotion and intensity into her performances and that she is always a complete and utter joy to watch, even if she's not as impressive on an audio recording.
Here's what the critic thinks...
