On the blackboard in my kitchen I am writing

I WILL NEVER MISSPELL KRISTIN CHENOWETH'S NAME AGAIN

100 times, in penance for my previous posts.

The fact remains, however her name is spelled, IMHO Megan Mullally is a better choice for YF if the rumors are true, and KC is making a better career choice for herself by taking the T.V. role if those rumors are true.

And, not that it has appeared in this thread yet, but it has in countless others: the word IS role, not roll. A roll is something you eat with dinner, or connotates movement, like rolling over and playing dead. Which KC does not want her career to do. Hence her decision to pursue a broader audience.

Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

By the way, I just found out more about this. According to a recent article, Kristin will be playing a waitress who has a crush on Lee Pace's character (the guy who brings the dead back to life.)

sounds like a great part for her! We need more quality sitcoms, TV is going too "reality" for me!

A very reliable source told a Cheno fan who told me that this show has been picked up for eight episodes.

It's not a sitcom, it's a comedy drama a la Desperate Housewives. I think the show could be good though the plot sounds too thin, it sounds more like the theme of a movie than the theme of a long-running TV show. One of the main problems I've noticed with TV shows that do not make it is the fact that the writers come up with great ideas for an episode or even a full season but the premise proves to have no longevity and so there's trouble in paradise.
I hope the people involved with this project have thought in terms of future shows and even future seasons. Is Chenoweth part of the main cast or is she a series regular?

Considering they just finished casting and have yet to even shoot a pilot, that's extremely unlikely.

considering the writer/creator/exec producer of the series is also the same as on NBC's 'Heroes' it really isn't. Networks will often times greenlight a pilot but also pick up additional episodes before one frame of film has been shot if they like the arc of the story or the quirkiness of a show, and know that they have slots to fill on the Fall schedule.

I have been told the same thing..tho the number of eps picked up is 6 eps not 8.

it's NBC? ouch... considering their failure/success ratio in the past few years, it's a gamble. With the bombing of Studio 60 and 30 whatever, you'd think they reconsider greenlighting half seasons before they even shot the pilot or whole seasons before they even test it... well... I think it's a wise move for Kristin but I'm waiting to see the show and her part. I believe they really could have done better than Lee Pace for a main character but with Bryan Fuller as a creator (he also created Wonderfalls re: Chenoweth plucks 'Daisies' boo) I guess it was unavoidable. As for his record... the guy has been trying to get a scifi drama off the ground since 2002 and Heroes is his first hit (though I'm sure the cutie cast is more responsible for that than the scifi or drama content)... so we'll see.

It still sounds much better than the pilot Norbert Leo Butz (my favorite) is doing.."Playing Chicken" playing a Rush Limbaugh kind of guy. Groannnnnnnn....

Actually, FRANKENSTEIN is not, currently, the ensemble piece everyone assumes it to be. The bulk of the musical material was given to the role of Elizabeth. Said material was crafted specifically to Chenoweth. She was, in fact, the lead of the show (as much as there could be a lead for the show).

Also, this hour-long series was written not for Chenoweth, but for Lee Pace. ABC is supposedly very keen on it.

Personally, I think Ms. Chenoweth made a smart move.

Tony Winner Swoosie Kurtz to Join Chenoweth for ABC-TV Pilot "Pushing Daisies"

Swoosie Kurtz will join fellow Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth in the ABC television pilot "Pushing Daisies," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

One day after Variety broke the news that Chenoweth — currently starring in the Broadway revival of The Apple Tree — would star in the Warner Bros. TV series, the rival trade publication reports that Kurtz has been cast as the aunt to the character played by Lee Pace.

"Pushing Daisies," according to Variety, "revolves around a man who falls in love with a deceased woman after he figures out how to bring the dead back to life." The series will feature executive producers Bryan Fuller, Dan Jinks, Bruce Cohen and Barry Sonnenfeld — the latter also directs.

Pace — seen recently in Off-Broadway's The Guardians — is slated to appear with Anna Friel (original star of Closer) and Chi McBride ("Boston Public," "The Nine"). Pace's other stage credits include Small Tragedy, The Fourth Sister and The Credeaux Canvas as well as TV's "Wonderfalls" and "Soldier's Girl."

Kurtz — last seen in the Broadway revival of Heartbreak House — has provided Emmy Award-nominated turns on Showtime's "Huff" and "Sisters." The actress won Tony Awards for The House of Blue Leaves and Fifth of July and a nomination for her turn in Frozen. Other stage credits include Imaginary Friends, Love Letters, A History of the American Film, Tartuffe, The Mineola Twins, and Ah, Wilderness!

She's featured in the publicity shots:

She was also interviewed on ABC.com about the show.
I saw the pilot and wasn't a big fan of it mostly because of Pace and the voice-over narration (provided by Broadway's Jim Dale). Chenoweth is funny as usual (though if you don't like her I doubt her performance here will change your mind) and Ellen Greene and Swoozie Kurtz are divine. Friel's character needs a bit more edge but she does great work in the pilot. To me the weak links were Chi McBride and Lee Pace.
Apparently, it's one of the most anticipated shows of the season and everyone I've spoken to that has seen the pilot loves it.

What part does she play? The preview focused on the two main characters not being able to touch. Didn't really feature other characters. The show looks fun and a bit different for network tv. I am going to give it a shot.

I've just finished watching the pilot and I think it is great. It is innovative, original and deserves to be a huge success.
Chenoweth doesn't steer too far from her comic bimbo role, but is - as always - utterly charming, and the camera loves her.
It is wonderful to see Anna Friel (a local girl) back on our screens. She is a very talented and intelligent actress.
As for Lee Pace, he is gorgeous and also utterly charming.
A fantastic pilot, of what promises to be a wonderful show.
