I saw this on Broadway.com. "Cher: The Musical"? Thoughts. from RC in Austin, Texas
CHER
Thank goodness. Now that Priscilla is gone, Broadway needs to refill its gay quotient.

I think she's going for EGOT. This musical sounds like it would be a lot of fun. As the above poster referenced, it would definitely fill the void left by Priscilla's closing.
Interesting she's going to do 8 shows a week?
TABOO, TOO.
Somehow I don't see this getting beyond the Twitter stage, although it has the potential to either be a huge hit or a huge disaster.
This actually has been in development for awhile and she has some pretty legitimate Broadway names writing it with her and who are interested in producing it. It definitely will get beyond the "twitter" stage, but probably not for another year or two at least.
I would go.
Oh, come on--admit it!
You would go too!
PalJoey,
I would TOTALLY go. Who doesn't love Cher?

Huh. I can see the potential for a Cher musical- but not sure about the "Three Chers" concept in the story. If Cher's sitting onstage narrating, you're not going to want to hear some young actress sing "Half-Breed"- you're going to want to hear the lady herself. And if Cher sings all the songs, why have two other actresses "Playing" the parts?
I would go every day. And everyone here would, as well.

^ Hi RC. What he said!
It was coined in 30 Rock. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EGOT

I 'might' be interested, but I cannot imagine that I'd care enough to go multiple times. (And yes, the premise seems a bit odd. (Her being IN makes it more appealing.)

broadway.com got it a little mixed up I think though.
I don't think Cher is actually planning on playing herself. At least not yet.
I am a huge fan of hers and have been dying for her to come back to Broadway, but I don't know how I would feel about her playing herself.
"Interesting she's going to do 8 shows a week?"
Um .. YES! If you look at what her schedule was like for the last tour and her Vegas stint.. 8 shows a week is nothing. Except for a few weeks in Vegas that she got sick.
I would go see this in a minute.

It's gotta be older than that show.
Eh. I like her personality. I like some of her acting and I like some of her music. I'd rather watch her interact at a dinner party for two hours than watch other performers recreate her life and music on stage.
I'd go if there was a scene from her Lori Davis hair products infomercial days.

At least one of her incarnations HAS to be a Man.
