I have been waiting to ask these:
*Is "Thing" present in the show? And if yes, how is it done?
*(Same question, but with Cousin Itt)
*Does Lurch have any songs, and if so, what? Does he actually speak?
Nice reviews! Cannot wait to hear more!

What does the Playbill look like?
Im going December 15th and cannot wait! Thanks for the reviews everyone, my anticipation is growing bigger and bigger!
Wait, wait, wait... I'm pretty sure I'm just having a weird dream now and this isn't really happening, but did you really just say that Terrence Mann sings a song about being raped by a giant squid? MY JAW IS ACTUALLY TOUCHING THE FLOOR.
thanks for the reviews!! With a few changes and some tweaking, it looks like we could have a hit.
And I'd like to know as well if "Thing" is in it as well as Cousin "It".
Schmerg, it should be a whole new world of terrance mann you have only dreamed of! As fr the playbill I love the color and hope they will keep it that way well into the bway run. I cannot wait to see this!!! Im very happy to hear everyone including nathan and bebe are being gracious at the stage door. Its not often in chicago we have that many stars in one show.
I was hoping for a song between Gomez & Moticia about how he goes wild when she speaks French
Looks like nothing for Cousin Itt. Is he in it?
I heard he's a puppet.
And... holy smokes... I have a feeling that squid thing will be on my mind for weeks to come.
I'm seeing the show the day before it closes in January. Then seeing the final performance of "Jersey Boys" the next day.
Can't wait!
I envision Itt singing the title song from Hair

So far, it looks like this show has potential. I was skepitcal about it, but it sounds very creative.
saw it last night too after queing for 2 hours for cancellation tickets. both thing and cousin itt are in the show, plus other characters i'll leave out for surprise. itt is a puppet who appeared very shortly just crossing the stage. thing is more like the second butler to lurch's first butler, so he appears several times.
SPOILER ALERT!!!

lurch, after just growling from the start of the show, finally speaks and sings in his beautiful deep baritone at the end of the show.

I was hoping the set design would be more....massive?
the set and lighting is gorgeous. massive but not as massive as normand desmond's house in sunset boulevard. the interior of the addams home which features a giant double staircase, ingeniously reconfigures itself and turns into different parts of the house.

anybody with the playbill info? Cast List/Song List & Who Sang It / Understudies?
I am so excited for this show! I sat in on a rehearsal a few weeks ago and was able to see the opening number, the tango, and Krysta's song, "Pulled." What I saw I loved.
Every time I pass the Lunt Fontanne I look to see if the marquee is up yet. It's not too early, is it? Those big black empty panels hanging over the Lunt Fontanne are just so ugly!

To anyone who saw the show...
I read somewhere at some point (probably on our unreliable friend wikipedia) that the rights to the classic Addams Family Theme Song had been acquired by this production.
Did they use this theme at all in the production?
The theme was used in the overture and right before curtain call during the black out.

I was there last night as well and I'm confused at your post. SPOILERS....Don't you remember - The theme song was used (hysterically) in the middle of the first act - with that huge house piece and Morticia in the classic wicker chair. It was an amazing moment because everyone in the audience was snapping along with the song. I thought it was so cool that there was this spontaneous, unprovoked audience participation. I don't think the theme is used in the overture. I remember it at the curtain call, though - because I was clapping along to the "snap snap".
I really had a great time and was sort of moved by it. Can't wait to see it again in January to see what changes they made.
