I though that that would be one of my nightmare-from-hell-questions,
so i thought i might share it with my fellow-theatre-goers!
so,
if you had to choose THREE (only three, no cheating!) favourite composers of musicals, who would they be?
simple extra RULES:
1) don't count in their lyric-writing abilities-just music.
2) choose from everywhere, anytime in history, stage or screen-but musical-writers!

When i originated this thread I never imagined people would be so decisive! be able to actually choose from the vast variety of amazing composers! worthy of appreciation...
I don't have the mental stability to choose only three favourites! that's why i tossed the question to you... to ponder it!
seems like y'all are very certain! GOD!
I promise i WILL post MY list at some point in this thread's coming history.
btw, does anyone else think munkustrap178 cheated ?!

Mine.
1. Alan Menken (Loved what he did with the Disney musicals of the 90s)
2. Sondheim (Love almost every show he's done)
3. Leonard Bernstein (West Side story is my favorite composition)
I dont think that was cheating. There was a decisive top 3 there. It's just sad to leave other greats ( who sit outside of the top 3) unmentioned.
Notice I defend myself as well.
