I got the idea for the Sweeny Todd Thread... I think we should have a Chorus line thread! What do we think? Hate the show? Love it? Besides the stuff about how its one of the biggest and well known ones, and how it changed our lives (at least mine) whats our fav. songs? characters? Anyone in a community theater production???

It's one of my favorite shows because it is so unique. I've performed in three different productions of it, and it's a blast (although very difficult). My favorite songs are Montage: Part IV, I Can Do That, I Hope I Get It, What I Did For Love, and One.

I love ACL.I didn't see it until the end of it's long run(& I saw it a lot) but I love it none the less.I even went to the last performance & hung out with the original & final casts in Shubert Alley (Prisilla Lopez,Bayork Lee,Kelly Bishop,Ron Dennis & Donna McKecknie "ROCK",really sweet people).
It was a great time I'll never forget it.

Fave song? Well let's see .The opening is great, there's something about sitting in the Shubert, the lights go down, you hear the opening vamp...
At the ballet,Gimme the ball, Nothing, Dance 10 looks 3, Music & the mirror & One.

I love the show. I was so fortunate to see it right before it closed. It was for my 11th birthday and I had seats in the orch with my mom, and my bro and father were a few rows behind us. It litterally was like a week before it closed.

My favorite song is I can do that.

"Judy Garland, Jimmy Dean, You tragedy Queen" ~ Taboo

"Watching a frat boy realize just what he put his d!ck in...ex's getting std's...schadenfruede" ~ Ave Q

"when dangers near, exploit their fear" ~ Reefer Madness the Musical

I've been lucky to do this show several times, playing Paul each time...I must admit, I love this show but it is very challenging to do...The best experience I have had has been doing the original choreography with Ms. Laurie Gamache directing/choreographing...Any variations really throw off the balance of the show.

This is one show that I will definitely travel to the USA for!! I saw the original LONDON cast in 1977 and the show was amazing however I heard later that the producers were disappointed with the standard of dancing in London!! The West End can NEVER beat Broadway dancers!!! So this makes the prospect of a Broadway revival even MORE exciting.

Favourite song: At the Ballet - without a doubt though Music and the Mirror is a pretty close second!!!

"Your eyes..... they shine like the pants on my blue serge suit"

I was blessed with being able to see the original cast four times and the original production a whopping 39 times!!! Over the years I had many friends in the production at the Shubert and I also worked with the Shubert Theater's box office manager, at the time.

Favorite Numbers????? That is easy:

The Opening Number -- "God I hope I get It" and the bewitching
"The Music and The Mirror"

"Blow out the candles Robert and make a wish. Want something, want SOMETHING."

I love this show. I dont think I would be able to pick a favorite song. They are all amazing. I cant go to an audition without singing "God I hope I get it." My favorite character would be either Cassie or Paul.

omg! That happened to me too!!! I played Kristine in a community theater production and they cut the entire middle!!! I couldn't belive it! Turns out I love the show sooo much! I've seen it like five times in amatur productions and even traveled to Lincoln Center just to watch the orignal cast in the arrchival footage... its amazing! Kristine is my fav. character only cause i played her and i indenfity with the character 100%. But the song I love the most has gotta be What I Did For Love, just cause after my CHorus Line closed I really understood what it means. SOoOOO True. But everything about the show is AMAZING! I hate it soo much when they cut! we didn't even do "And..." Soo pissed still to this day...

I know there is a production in South Hampton NY coming up (cause I was gonna audtion, but its just too far from Nassau county) anyone else now about NY prodctions coming up!?

I love A Chorus Line. I'm so glad that it's being revived for Broadway. I'm currently in rehearsals for a production of this show playing the role of Mike.

Everytime I go to rent a movie I see it and I don't know anything about the film version, but it looks pretty modern..has anyone seen it? Is it just a video of the stage show? Would you recommend it?

"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen." Conan O'Brien

I go to LaGuardia High School in Nyc (the school FAME was based on) and today Priscilla Lopez came to speak to us. She spoke to us about A Chorus Line and the process of "creating" it with Micheal Bennett and the other original cast members. She told lots of stories about her experiences auditioning. Then she sang Nothing for us, which was so awesome. She was really nice and answered any questions we had. It was actually the second time we met her because last year she was our Principal-for-a-day. Then, randomly, Patrick Wilson showed up in the doorway of the classroom we were in with his fiancee (all 3 are alums of LaGuardia). He stopped by to say hi and then left.

I recognize the addiction to being alive.

joyspasm.

That whole thing. The whole damn show is just one constant AMAZING MOMENT! ONE. SINGULAR. SENSATION! :O

Dance: Ten; Looks: Three is probably my favorite song, but Nothing comes in at a close second.

To bad I've only seen the movie. re: Chorus Line
