Mr. Sieber posted this as his facebook status this evening:

"I broke my leg tonight, and had to stop the show...luckily it was my Puppet Farquaad leg...however, when I told Stacy our stage manager...all anyone heard over the intercom was..."Christopher Sieber has broken his leg!" My understudy passed out.....good times......"

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Ouch!!! Get well soon, Mr. Sieber.

EDIT: Never mind, originally read the post too quickly.

I don't think he needs to get well as much as his puppet legs/costume does.

Bwahahaha.

Oh, Millie... if you're going to post a response... at least read the damn post. re: Chris Sieber breaks a leg (literally) during tonight's performance of S

He broke his puppet leg NOT his own real leg.

Zactly, hahaha.

Was anyone at the show last night? Which scene did they stop the show and how long until they started back up?

I almost had a heart attack reading this thread title. Good to know he is okay, except for maybe one of his Farquaad legs. LOL!

Oh geez. I feel so embarrassed now. I kind of skimmed the post. That's what I get for staying up late.

Good to know that his understudy is ready to go on at a moments notice...

LOL! He's so silly. :)

I was wondering how he would have broken one of his own legs, walking on his knees all night. I'm sure it would have been a very interesting story.

Then again, how did he break one of the puppet legs? Anyone know what they're made of? Updated On: 9/25/09 at 03:29 PM

They really need to call the Jim Henson Muppet people so they could have some celebrity understudies "on-call".

Perhaps that's why they say that Chris goes out on a limb every night on stage.
