i wonder if they will be starring in the tour or just did the concert presentation of the music for Iowa? Both would be well cast in these roles. They don't sound nearly as good as O'Hara ans Pasquale but they probably did not have much rehearsal. I hope the tour cast will be announced soon. I am really looking forward to it.

Personally, I think Christiane sounds awful on this. Way oversung. Honestly, Panaro doesn't do it for me either.

It's a SETA Category 4 tour with a terrible schedule. The chances of anyone in the cast being anyone you've ever heard of are slim to none.

Panaro doesn't seem to connect with it. I think he'd be a terrible choice. But it's Telsey casting, so don't expect any great ideas.

SETA stands for "short engagement touring agreement." It, and the specific category, refer to rules the tour must follow regarding costs, contracts, etc. These tours are usually smaller in scale, stops, and cast size. However, it is still an Equity production.

It means they pay less. Which means they won't be getting any big Broadway stars. But, that said, work is work. So you never know. And I'm sure a lot of the bigger stars can negotiate higher pay. So who knows? I wonder if it will be redesigned at all? I think there's a brilliant show there, but the production on Broadway wasn't it.

What was lacking in the B'way production? I wasn't in the area when it was on, and I've recently discovered the OBCR which I think is so gorgeous. I'm curious what people thought who saw the whole production.

The acting was incredible. The two leads blew me away. And the score of course is gorgeous. To me, the book was okay, but needed some tweaking. The nosey neighbor had a song, her husband had a song. Those weren't needed. Instead, give a song to the sister to help flesh out Francessa story. She apparently had a song, but they cut it. They also spent too much time on the kids, which, to me, made the story a little awkward because suddenly I felt bad for them that their mother was having an affair when I should have been totally wrapped up in the romance of the show. I think it should have streamlined to just 4 actors - The two leads and their partners. They can talk about the kids, but we don't need to see them, etc. I think they tried to make it a much bigger show than it probably should have been. Also, the design was terrible. The ensemble rolled these big clunky set pieces on and off stage and whirled them around stage. And the actual bridges of the title were just like some red beams that floated on. It all felt and looked very cheap. Considering the stage magic Sherr had done in the past, I was disappointed he didn't have any really gorgeous stage pictures or ideas. It doesn't need to have these huge expensive set, but I think the route they went just felt very cheap and uninspired.
