Personally, I think Lola should be played by someone who is a dancer first, and not someone who can learn to dance. It just seems that there aren't really that many big roles anymore for people who are really great dancers (isn't there some joke about leads not dancing?), so it just seems that this is a part that should go to someone who's been working their whole life to get to do a part like this.
Bobby, Ziemba may be too old (and not so much a sexpot as the funny, quirky girl next door), but girlfriend has a FIERCE body.

I think John Lithgow will be great also John Price too!
I'm so tired of John Lithgow and his smug beret-wearing self. Let someone else do it.
Ziemba is great, but she's too old for Lola.
She also is not the right type. But I adore her.

Barbara Cook has just signed to play Lola.
Kristen or Megan Sikora would be great as Gloria!
How about Brian Dennehy and Donna McKechnie as Joe and Meg Boyd. Jarrod Emmick as Joe Hardy or some other tall guy. I'd like to see like a 6'3" Joe Hardy who's HOT. Hell let's get Derek Jeter to do it.

You guys....Fantasia is playing Lola. It was in the press release.
duh
Loving the idea of Jane Krakowski as Lola!
I feel like Norb is too short to play Applegate.
I don't know, I always pictured him as a tall guy.
But Norb could definitely tackle it, and hit it out of the park.
applegate isn't dependent on the actor's height, the character is dependent on the power and presence of the actor, both of which Norbert has..
David Burtka as Joe. I'd love to see that nice butt in a tight baseball uniform
Is there a young Ann Reinking type out there? Great dancer, great voice quality?
So now we know Applegate and Lola what about everyone else
Joel Gray for the coach
I wonder who they are trying to get for Joe.
Joe is really the center of the show, though the focus is usually on Lola and Applegate due to the fact they are the showier roles.
Would love to get a Neil Patrick Harris type. I just really wanna see a show with Harris and Krakowski. Plus, Harris and Hayes have great chemistry, they did an episode of WILL & GRACE together and they were fantastic.

Patrick Wilson as Joe?
Cheyenne Jackson was their first choice for Joe, but he is unavailable due to contractual commitments to XANADU.

Ah, but Patrick Wilson can actually swing a bat--and slug a few homers, too!

Karen Ziemba is FIFTY! She likes to KICK anbd STRETCH and KICK! She's FIFTY!
Seriously, back in 1994, Bebe was unhappy with the tryout in California, and said she might not want to do it on Broadway - a negotiating ploy for more money. The producers called up Karen Ziemba (who was doing Crazy for You at the time) and told her that if they could't get Bebe to sign, they wanted her.
Yes, 14 years ago, she would have been a great Lola.
she would have been a better lola than bebe was.
Ziemba would indeed have made a perfect Lola back then. I don't particularly enjoy Neuwirth in the cast recording. Wish Ziemba had been able to do the role.
Jackson would have been so wonderful, especially given the much-talked about energy he has with Krakowski (from all reports that I've heard from those who saw them in XANADU workshops).
What other names are they tackling?
