And television hasn't been as good to Broadway since. Boy, we sure could of used her show today!

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I'm not a big fan of Rosie's but that YouTube brought tears to my eyes. She really did a lot for Broadway and that final production number showed a lot of love going both ways.

Aside from Vanessa Williams and John Lithgow, I recognized

Brad Oscar in the Producers bit
Deidre Goodwin and Belle Callaway in Chicago
William Michals and Ann Sanders in BATB
Maya Days and Felicia Finley represented Aida

Wow, that was so cool. I forgot how much theater was featured on her show.

I loved it. I wonder why Sutton wasn't there on the actual show.

I watched this a few days ago. Hopefully her new show will have the same pizazz.

Karmine Alers and Manley Pope were there from RENT.

Lmao at her singing. I miss when Rosie was llike this. Wasn't as crazily outspoken about her opinions.

That's awesome. It was awesome when she was on the View, because she managed to get some Broadway on there too. It's a shame when you consider how many TV hosts are in New York City that none of them have done half as much to help Broadway as Rosie did. More should follow her lead.

There was a lot of Broadway on the View this year, even without Rosie.

I know they had performances, but it didn't seem like the ladies TALKED about Broadway nearly as much without Rosie around.

there needs to be a show just about broadway they could have interveiws with broadway composers and actors and performances. It would be more interesting than
oprah.

I agree Gobstoper,

The View does have lot of performances, but they don't promote theater in the same way that Rosie did. Her absolute love of theater came across so well. I remember watching her show and wanting to go buy plane tickets to NYC at least twice a week.

I think Whoppi has a lot to do with the Broadway stuff on the View.

And Ellen has done a little bit as well. Not a lot, but some.

If only her talk show could come to DVD somehow, but I'm sure the price for the rights to everything (Broadway segments, musical guests, celebrity interviews) would be astronomical.

That clip really makes me miss the show, lol

I can't find this on YouTube, but another favorite moment of mine is when a kid was on the Rosie Show promoting an authentic signed postcard from White Star Line featuring the Titanic ship and he was auctioning it to raise $60,000 to treat his friend's mother for cancer. Suddenly, the cast of TITANIC comes out singing a song from the show and handing him a giant check for the full amount of $60,000.

I wish that was shown in other countries, not just the states. But in saying that thank god for you tube!
