Congrats to Clay. He must be thrilled.
I find all these petty little comments very amusing.
Apparently, the management of Sardi's thinks him worthy of a caricature, on their wall. Really, their opinion is the only one that counts, in this instance.

"Who determines which performers get a caricature?"

Probably whoever takes the phone call and hears the words "we have the funding to cover the costs."
----------------------------------------

These 3 other actors were awarded a caricature this year. You are insulting them when you insult the selection process.

No, it's an insult to the other sctors that are going to be honored that they have to share the stage with him.

Oh I see. It isn't the quality of the work or the impact it had on Broadway, its the sheer volume that matters. Got it.

If you're going to include regional theater credits, Clay has plenty of those.

Funny how the actual actors never seem to be insulted. It's always the jealous nobodies on the message boards that spew their venom.

You've been slacking lately Cartwheel.

Funny, there is only TV listing and concert listings...

What regional things has he done?

"Oh I see. It isn't the quality of the work or the impact it had on Broadway, its the sheer volume that matters. Got it."

His work in Samaplot is not quality qork at all. It's Spamalot. I'm saying that the other performers have dedicated their lives to stage acting, Clay just sort of fell into it.

What a waste of wall space.

Laura Bell Bundy started in regional theater at 9 years old. Clay started at 11. For Laura its a plus point that she started young but for Clay, well, he just fell into it by accident.

*insert massive eye-roll*

Recognition? All you need is to be "famous" and have worked on Broadway. If Bob Saget can get a caricature than anyone can!

Or perhaps Sardi's is grateful for the business generated by Clay's stint across the street. Anyway, congrats to all--it's a fun place to eat and identify who is on the wall.

How silly of me to think that a restaurant that caters to the Broadway community would want to put of pictures of a guy that didn't even win AI.

Who said they would have made it through the first audition?

No offense to these fine people, but if getting to the Idol finals was that easy, everyone would be doing it, especially the aspiring Broadway actors.

No......... the show has boasted their dislike of Broadway. Simon can barely stand when they have a Broadway theme. All of them would have made it to the finals if there were actually REAL judges.

Most Idol finalists don't get the recording contract in the first place, and many others lose it after the first album, but they all get the exposure that allows them to pursue a career in entertainment. So, would it be so awful to sing pop songs for a year in order to get your first Broadway role? It's way more fun than waiting tables.
