Bob Saget looks like a gay guy eyeing you from across the bar.
That's what I thought!
It's those pursed lips.
I vote for TheatreDiva for Claymate Of The Year!!! Not only does he come a runnin' every time Clay Aiken's name appears in a thread title. He pitches a tent and Bogarts the entire thread. He has even been known to start random Clay threads on BWW, just because. Now that's dedication for ya. Rock on Diva!

""Well, I actually work for the Shubert Organization."
No, actually, you've been proven to be full of it, more than once, Fosse76. But Clay's return to Spamalot leaves no doubt that all your "insider information" is a bunch of lies. "
No, I haven't. With the exception of Hair (which was to have gone into the Shubert), all the information I have posted has been true. And I would post my Shubert ID if it didn't identify who I am. Unlike the Nederlanders, ALL Shubert employees are supposed to have IDs because they enter through the stage door of their respective theaters (The Jacobs, Majestic and Golden are the exceptions) or to get past security in the Shubert office building (Sardi's). Are you still upset that I said Clay was gay, you denied it, and lo and behold he announced he was gay? Or the fact that I stated Mario Lopez made all these demands, PalJoey claimed I was lying and, lo and behold it was made public a few days later? Or how about when I said Terrence Howard called Broadway slave work, people questioned it, and lo and behold he said it again in several interviews? Maybe it was when I said Equus would play the Broadhurst a month before the public announcement? Or that Shrek would play the Broadway before that was announced? Which of these was I wrong on?
This thread is a hoot! (As most Clay threads tend to be.)
Why is everyone caricatured by this artist so damn serious? I want to see some big grinning, exaggerated teeth!
Love the stage door picture, Diva.
Yea, look at all those middle aged, fat house wives, just WAITING to get their hands on Clay!
But I like this shot better:
Yup, he's gay. Do you have a problem with that?

"And I would post my Shubert ID if it didn't identify who I am. "
So black out your name and post the rest of it.
"Which of these was I wrong on? "
You were wrong on everything about Spamalot. How Clay felt about it, how others felt about him, how his casting affected the box office, etc.
I don't follow these other shows, so who knows where you may have found out the gossip about them. There are plenty of sources on the Internet for that.
His friends from Spamalot went with him to Sardi's. Fosse76 is a wannabe. He probably tends the bar and wants us to think he's somebody.

Diva, are you still mad that Clay is a star and you are a loser?
"Bob Saget looks like a gay guy eyeing you from across the bar."
Actually, he looks like a straight guy eyeing you from across a gay bar.
"He probably tends the bar and wants us to think he's somebody."
Not for nothing, but tending the bar IS pretty important.
Good to see that Clay is shedding some of his closet weight.

I just want to mention that a respected Broadway performer, Terrence Mann was interviewed about Clay in a TV feature recently, as he was the Director in the Raleigh Theater presentation of "Oklahoma" when Clay played Will Parker. He was filled with praise for Clay, who was a teen at the time.
As far as recognition is concerned I will add that Clay has not totally been "teen pop", and has starred in 9 (nine) concert tours where audiences were as large as 20,000+, and remember please, acting is a good part of any presentation or appearance of an artist. The total number of concerts was approximately 290 individual shows across the country. Each concert, each show is different. Lots'a acting guys. Plus small TV parts in "Ed", "SNL" and "Scrubs".
Feature interviews in "Elle" and "Time" magazine, and featured on "Primetime Live". In '03 alone he had over 100 performances and appearances after Idol. Has spoken before Congress, been a representative for Disney and McDonalds, etc. etc.
I understand many of you feel the Sardi's honor is not deserved, and perhaps you are right. I simply detest the lack of respect this man has been showered with since his arrival was announced over a year ago. Don't like him, fine. Lots of people around the world do respect and appreciate all he has accomplished. His Broadway friends are many and his Very Important People list of fans and friends is impresssive.
Wow. The picture is as bland and generic looking as he is.

Congratulations Clay! What a wonderful honor, to have a caricature hung in Sardis'. I loved Clay in Spamalot.
Merry Christmas everyone.
I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I think Clay is adorable.
LOL - TDiva, the Palin pic is priceless.
Wishing EVERYONE on BWW a very Merry Christmas filled with love and warmth.
Aww, the caricature doesn't show how his chest is boring and white

It’s official: Clay Aiken, Broadway star
December 25th, 2008
by Paul Hodgins
Yet another sign that Clay Aiken has arrived as a serious Broadway star: yesterday he got his framed caricature installed at Sardi’s. That’s the Big Apple equivalent of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Clay silenced the naysayers with his Broadway debut in “Spamalot” earlier this year.

Does that mean that agents can purchase Sardi's caricature's just like they can purchase stars for their clients?
I'd buy him eyebrows before a caricature!
