That's actually a pretty big toe you just dipped.
I also love how there are like 4 new posters who have created accounts for the sole purpose of going after other posters they don't like, but don't want to use their "main" screen name to do it.
It's so charming to see all these posts defending him. Aspiring twinks of the theatre uniting, I presume? Perhaps you should create a union.

i agree. Mr Thompson isn't being entitled, he is voicing his opinion on what happened at a show one night. I think 10 years ago this would have gotten a laugh by 99% of the people out there asking for more of the story because it was funny and an interesting anecdote to a occurrence on a broadway stage one night. Now in our politically correct universe of NO ONE CAN EVER BE OFFENDED. (please watch the movie PCU with Jeremy Piven) Are all jokes, funny anecdotes, or sarcastic remarks destroyed because they might hurt someones feelings? Go fight another cause.
The guy said the sound dept messed up and used some sarcastic language doing it. Life goes on. We dont' need the thought police tying each "chorus boy" to the stake because they said something thats not roses and butterflies.
Clay Thomson isn't...a "twink"

Since when is calling someone a twink an insult? The guy is skinny and to most people he would be considered a twink. Who gives a damn. The people crying about the twink reference are full of themselves.

After looking at his pics, I'd still classify him as a twink. His body type is called an Ectomorph. Ectomorphs typically have small frames and lean muscle mass. Now not all Ectomorphs are Twinks, but really the definition of a twink varies from person to person. But I personally would say he has a twinkish body. And there's nothing wrong with that. #TwinkAcceptance. ....lolz....
Yes, he is a twink. And it isn't an insult. Just incredibly common and replaceable in this business. You want to find someone with the same skill set and look as Clay? Walk out of the Schubert and look to your right or left, and you'll find him. Being a twink isn't bad. I'm not full of myself. My body type isn't twinky in the slightest, nor is it muscly. I'm not calling him a twink because I'm trying to put him down, I'm calling him a twink because that's what he is. c0113g3b0y's link is a perfect example of him being a textbook twink. Don't come for me, Zell. You clearly don't know what you're talking about. As always.

"Since when is calling someone a twink an insult?"
How could it not be?
Can we stop pretending that being called arguably the most desirable body type in the gay community is a bad thing?
BUT WHAT ARE GAY SHOULDERS?!?! No one wants to talk about the real issue here.

If you have a problem with the word twink then take it up with the gays that made up the word to describe skinny men. I've never thought of the word as an insult and I doubt many other "twinks" have either. Calling someone a twink is no more an insult than calling a hairy beefy man a bear.
The lady doth protest too much.

arguably the most desirable body type in the gay community
1984 is calling. It wants its aesthetic back.
As I said before, FAR from a twink. Far far far far from it. Not my aesthetic at all. But boy is it the aesthetic of the rest of the gay community. Especially theatre gays.

^ This. Clay has a very nice body. I'm sure he isn't crying over being called a twink. Perhaps the people whining about using the word twink have some body image issues.

That's simply not true.
And let's not pretend that the term "twink" WASN'T used as an insult, back when the word was used at all, meaning lithe, hairless, dumb and shallow.

Yeah, this doesn't sound like using "twink" in a condescending or insulting manner at all!
"Twink is a gay slang term used to describe young men in their late teens to early twenties. Usage of the term varies, but traits attributed to twinks can include attractiveness, having little or no body or facial hair, a slim to average build, or appearing to be younger than their chronological age."
Each time people reply being offended by this, my joke about the union for twinks gets funnier and funnier.

Your perception about a lot of things in this thread is really off.
Can we stop pretending twink is "arguably the most desirable body type in the gay community"? I remember when they were popular back at the turn of the millennium and during the brief heyday of Queer as Folk. And while there is a sector of gays that find pretty young skinny boys that look barely legal attractive (I have never been attracted to that type), the moniker of "twink" was used to identify them as shallow, vapid, common and disposable. As a body type, they are desired by some. As a personality type, they are ridiculed.

Well sure, if that's the only definition a twink has ever known. And even if it were, it would still make Thomson twink-adjacent at the very least. Unless you have a new definition for "far far far far" that means "pretty close to". Guh-linda would call that "twinkification". The ability to redefine a word to anything within range of an approximation to an antonym for the mere purpose of making it sound less offensive and more attractive to those who most likely don't know or recall the true definition including the person in question.

Good lord just drop it, Namo. The word twink is certainly not an insult in today's world and the only one that seems to be offended by it, seems to be you. This sounds more like a your problem thing.
