IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS. It's my favorite show and this will be the first time that I'm seeing it live! I'm nervous and excited and feel extremely sorry for whoever is sitting next to me because this show makese cry like no other. I bought the last first row ticket for opening night!
I think I will actually pay for one of Signature's ridiculously expensive tickets to see this!
Signature is uber expensive but some of their stuff is beyond amazing! Their Witches of Eastwick was brilliant!
Agreed! Except the one time that I rushed (Gypsy) they put us in bar stools and we couldn't see a thing! A very difficult feat in that small theatre!
PS there is a code that expires August 1st for $10 off. Not sure if I'm allowed to post it here but if you want it you can PM me!
I can't wait to see Claybourne do this. He will be wonderful.
He just seems all wrong for this. From what I've seen he's not a strong actor. Hm.
$75 is ridiculously expensive? I wish that was a thing in NY.
Yes but for the theater and what it does and the size and everything -- i find it a little expensive... and they do not have three prices it is usually one cost for all seats. (maybe two)
Claybourne acting the pants off Sondheim's "The Best Thing That Ever Happened" from Road Show.

Regarding the prices: they do provide rush tickets AND student discounts.
Brynn O'Malley, who I think will be GREAT, understudied Dot/Marie in the last revival (and, I believe, played one of the Celestes). Does anyone know if she ever went on?
She'll be great. And adamgreer you can try and convince me but I've seen him in Road Show and One Arm. And both times he was just serviceable at best. And his voice isn't strong.

Not a strong voice? I think Stephen Sondheim who cast him in Road Show would disagree with that statement. I think he will be superb George. Not overwrought like some of the more recent ones in my memory.
His pants were still on, dang it.

I love this video of him singing "The Best Thing That Ever Happened" from ROAD SHOW.
GetUp&LiveIt I think you're correct, it doesn't seem like he won't overdue this part. His voice is very light and that reminds me of Mandy Patinkin so I'm happy!

Claybourne posted a picture on Instagram yesterday of the outside of Signature Theatre! I LOVE it!
For some reason I'm having trouble posting the image so here's his Twitter: https://twitter.com/Claybourneelder/status/488355253880766465

I'd let him finish my hat.

I am!! I seriously can't wait.

PLEASE report back. I'm (likely) taking a dear friend of mine and I consider this my last, best effort to get her into musical theater (previous failures: Millie, Company, Hair, If/Then).
She is a major art enthusiast and loves Seurat...I hope this one actually works!
I most definitely will! I live about an hour south of DC so I won't be able to post anything until a little later but I promise to post as soon as I get back (and then unfortunately get up at 2:30AM to get ready for work).
I have a feeling she will love it (very different style from the ones she has already seen).
Here's hoping. This is probably my favorite Sondheim. If she doesn't like this....DONE! Just DONE!
