Cloris' Broadway comment on DWTS

Cloris stated that she would not be going into Young Frank as it was closing in January. And she added that "75% of Broadway was dying"

I'm pretty sure she said "is closed" or "closing" not "was dying" not that it really matters. Same thing. But you quoted her.
Broadway Shows I've Seen: Hairspray, Chicago, Little Shop of Horrors (2003), The Wedding Singer, Spamalot, Riverdance, Rent, Beauty and the Beast, Spring Awakening, Wicked, Legally Blonde, Phantom of the Opera, Sweet Charity (revival), Drowsy Chaperone, The Lion King, Dreamgirls(2010 Tour).

I think she said "closing." Which is not exactly completely true. I mean, yeah, i lot of it is closing, but not 75%.

Oops, sorry about that ! I guess i was just so astonished that she even went there. Why would Tom Bergeron even ask her that question as Im sure he knew she wasn't doing it. Bad PR all around.

My mom just called me to tell me she said this, to which I replied "Cloris is a moron." That's a completely wrong fact that she effing MADE UP. Since when is she a Broadway insider?! Not that I am, but I'm pretty sure she's definitely not.

re: Cloris' Broadway comment on DWTS

At least she is concerned, and is making the general public aware of the plight afflicting Broadway. So she exaggerated the number, so what? Might as well make the situation seem even worse, for it may give some the motivation to see a show. And remember, she's a woman in her 80's who has been dancing up a storm for the past months, cut her some slack. And she is in no way a moron.

OMG you guys.. grow up! Anyone with half a brain knew she didn't mean that LITERALLY 75 percent of Broadway is closing. Now go finish your homework. Isn't it past your bedtime anyway?

Her comment made me wonder if she was considering it because he said I heard you are going to Broadway and she said "No, THE SHOW is closing on Jan 4th." And the name of THE SHOW was never mentioned.

Cloris Leachman is an absolutely epic person and if she says 75% of Broadway is closing, 75% of Broadway is closing.

Maybe if the producers lowered the prices a bit or eliminated "premium" seating----the theater would appeal to a broader audience.

Cloris has never exaggerated anything in her entire life. Ever. Every word out of her mouth is pure fact. *coughs*

I loved when she started talking in the accent. Go, Cloris!

No she turned it down. Right after she left the finale of DWTS she was on a plane to film a movie with Brad Pitt.
