Hi all, I'm looking for song suggestions for one of my vocal students. She is 9 but has a massive personality and no fear. She has some comps coming up so she is looking for a MT song that is appropriate for her age (very important to judges) but is also comedic and provides lots of character work. She is also a dancer so she loves songs that call for quite a bit of movement. I'm having a lot of trouble finding songs that a comedic but also age appropriate. She has previsouly loved Born To Entertain - Ruthless and several songs from Matilda and Seussical.
Her voice sits more towards the soprano end with a decent belt and her head voice is coming along well (she's also working on some classical repertoire).
This is my first time posting so I hope I'm doing this right, any help would be really appreciated! Thank you

"Naughty" (from Matilda the Musical)
The first song I thought of was "My New Philosophy" from You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown. It's not particularly dance-heavy, but it sounds like it could show off her voice and personality.
I Know Things Now from Into the Woods first came to mind.

I watched a 9 year old get a part by singing "I Enjoy Being a Girl" even though it is not really age appropriate.
"Live Out Loud" from Andrew Lippa's musical of A Little Princess
"Good Times Are Here to Stay" or "Star Tar" from Dames at Sea (does she tap?)
For a ballad, maybe "Little Fat Girls" from Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up? or "Oh, To Be A Movie Star" from The Apple Tree

"I Speak 6 Languages" and "My New Philosophy" are such good suggestions! If she really has so much personality I would go with the latter.
