When whichever husband it is sings, "You give her even the fruit and she swings," is the "fruit" in question actual fruit or does he mean a gay guy?

So, that's one vote for actual fruit and one vote for ... drug testing?

Ooooh. I always assumed a sazerac sling was a sex sling.

It's actually a Sondheim booboo. There is a Sazerac but as yous ee, there's not much fruit in it- traditionally a lemon peel. There is also a SINGAPORE Sling which usually has the fruit garnish. So did Steve make a mistake?

Perhaps. He's not perfect. He often takes huge leaps of understanding with his lyrics.
I just thought the chick was sexy even a gay dude would bang her.
A lemon peel is fruit, Sondheim knows his liquor, and his fruits.

Yeha but think of a whiskey sour- a cherry and a slice of orange in the drink. She's so sensitive, that you feed her that fruit that soaked in your drink and she's roaring drunk. No one eats a lemon peel.
Actually, I suck on the lemon peel.
Here's a link to a comprehensive history of the Sazerac. No mention of a sling, though.
Sazerac History
Well Steve always was the Master Mixoligist of Metaphors.
I just watched this on Netflix.......Raul Esparza is a God.......and having never seen this before (ok I'll admit I always thought it was about a company).....I was truly, TRULY moved.....and could relate in so many ways.
What an amazing show!
