Does anyone else think that Conan would be amazing in a Broadway show??!! At the Emmy's he performed wonderfully, he's a fantastic singer and has taken 6 years of tap classes. I think he could play a great Lumiere in B&tB, or even Man in Chair in Drowsy. And last but not least, Bert in Mary Poppins.

Any thoughts??

I think he could do broadway. But I doubt he would and if he did it would have to be role that fits him. I don't think he could play Bert.

I agree he could do Broadway, but certainly not in any of those roles.

In the DVD commentary track on the Simpsons episode "Marge vs. The Monorail", which Conan wrote and loosely based on The Music Man", he says he was offered the role of Harold Hill for the recent revival. He says he really, really wanted to do it but obviously couldn't because of his TV show.

I have to say...I would actually like to see his take on Man in the Chair. I feel he might overact it though.

Why are all you people so dissmissive? He's a genuinely talented performer and writer. This isn't Carson Daily or somebody...

He would be amazing in the Music Man! I don't think everybody can be in B&tB, the only people I've named are Josh Groban and Conan. I really think Conan is amazingly talented and could do Broadway much better than most people that are on it right now.

Conan could also play Leo Bloom extremely well.

I would love to see him as man in chair, but I'm not sure about the other roles.

I'd love to see him as Man in Chair as well.
He'd need something really light. Conan is his own..Conan, maybe this is why people don't want him on a stage, is good at playing Conan. Conan IS a character in himself.

And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps... What did she realize, Kitten? That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs. What's wrong with that? Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had... Where? On Pluto. The mysterious, icy wastes of Pluto.

I would like to see him as Conan O'Brian is Leslie Kritzer is Patti Lupone at Les Mouches....atleast someone could keep the show running.

He will be in Chicago at some point....

there there, calm down kids.

i think he could do broadway.. if the role was right or something was written specifically for him or with him in mind. he is a talented guy, after all.

but i don't think any of the current roles would suit him really.

hear my song; it was made for the time when you don't know where to go, listen to the song that i sing, you'll be fine..

he takes over The Tonight Show from Leno in 2009. With the career path ahead of him, we ought to be looking at parts he can play when he's 70 and finally retires from late night tv.
