Posted: 4/26/06 at 7:56pmIf there's one thing I can tell about this production already...it's that the cast has A LOT of spirit. This, I think, will be reflected in their performances and really harness the intention and memory of the original production.

I am so excietd for that Cast Album... lets hope all songs are intact with no cuts.

Posted: 4/26/06 at 9:27pmThanks for posting that! I see it the first week of August. I'm a big fan of this show. I saw it many times in NYC including the final performance. I still have a few things I bought at the sale they had the Monday after the show closed.

God, the costumes are even uglier than I remembered.
I like the casts' enthusiasm - though I'm not sure what Michael is getting at with the whole hope of a "CHORUS LINE resurgance." It's not really like the show ever went away!

well a lot of people (including some of the cast) has never seen it. So we cant say it never completely went away.
But I think it will bring the show back in poupularity... and who knows maybe when you ask people what their favorite musical is.. they might have something else to say than just "Wicked!"

So I'm very looking forward to this show (Got a Loge center seat in August) but from this video, it will be just re-make of the original production? I mean no change in the direction or choreography? What's the purpose of a revival then? Has there been any "revival" show that was pretty much the same as the original before??

Well until the late 80s, most revivals were more or less recreations of the original Broadway productions.
Unlike most other musicals, however, almost all professional productions of A CHORUS LINE ever staged have feature the original direction, choreography and costumes - which makes it a little more questionable whether people will pay Broadway prices to see it again.

And when I think of how it has been said that Bennett hated revivals....
They have to get Bobby out of those "recreations" of the original terrible outfit. Lose the scarf.
At least Tony Yazbek and Michael Paternostro are hot. But if that Tam guy can't grow a big thick moustache, he should be replaced.
