Circle in the Square?
I have been thinking about this for a while and now there are talks that the production soon to come has great chances of transferring. I could really see this working and I could imagine how they would decorate the entire theatre. Is this even being considered? I think it would be great!
( I know nothing is confirmed but, I was just wondering)

Posted: 7/1/12 at 1:58pmIf we're talking about the same space Godspell used, it is too small. Also, the witch's transformation would be difficult.

Posted: 7/1/12 at 2:04pmWe are talking about where Godspell played, yes. I recentley read that they could remove the 400's and make it a thrust ( like they did for Spelling Bee I believe). I could see the size being an issue too, I think it could work still however.

Posted: 7/1/12 at 2:05pmThe stage for this production is FAR too large to fit into the space. A production of Into the Woods could work in the space in general, though.

Posted: 7/1/12 at 6:57pmIf these set pieces are so big where would it go? I'm trying to think of available theatres.

It isn't trying to open next week...
By the time it transfers, a now-occupied theatre may open up.

Posted: 7/1/12 at 7:09pmI imagine it'll go into a promenium arch theatre like previous SITP transfers. The Neil Simon, Al Hirchfeld and Shubert will be empty after the summer, my money's on it transferring to the Hirchfeld or Neil Simon.

Posted: 7/1/12 at 8:00pmThe theatre is far too small to support the show financially. So no. Though in the round would be cool.

By revival are we talking the Shakespeare in the Park performance this summer?
Being from Houston... I'm not too familiar with what happens at the Delacourte, but I thought they didn't use sets. They do have Belvedere Castle as a fantastic backdrop! Is Kad being sarcastic. Honestly, it's hard for me to tell right now...

It might be easier to answer this question after we see it.
The only comment I'd make is that often shows that work so beautifully at the Delacorte don't work when they move. ON THE TOWN is one fairly recent example.
