No, both Maddie and Jess were in their normal tracks as Polly and Delphi respectively on the 29th.

Hello! I'm going to being attending the show on August 25th and am a huge fan of Anthony Boyle and of Sam Clemmett. Does anyone know if they will both be there?

Don't know for sure but considering they both just took vacations (Sam end of July, Anthony start of August) I would guess that unless an illness pops up in either or both of them, they are likely scheduled. The only two of the London cast members that are in question, from what I can tell thanks to reports in this topic, for vacations are Thornley and Dumezweni.

I saw the show on 8/9 and 8/10 and everyone was in except for Geraldine Hughes (McGonagall). I love her so I’m glad that I saw her several times in the part and then experienced her understudy who was just as funny and entertaining in the role.

Yes! IMO, she was fine. Her accent was a bit off sometimes, other times it was fine. Is the actress who usually plays McGonagall much older? I found it a bit disconcerting that the actor who played Albus/Dumbledore was an older man (appropriately), and comparatively McGonagall was so young. Katie didn't really capture the McGonagall that I have in my head, but she was alright.

They seemed to cast the role of McGonagall a tad younger on Broadway than in London so Geraldine (the usual actress) is the approximately the same age as Katie. Sandy, who's played McGonagall from the beginning in London, is in her 50's while Geraline and Katie are in their 40's.

Which makes me think that this might be Dumezweni's vacation week. Would leave only Thornley unless anyone can confirm if he was out last week or not. Seems like they all went one after the other.

According to the insert vs Showbill listing, Adeola was on for Noma (Hermione) and Andrew Long was on for Byron Jennings (Uncle Vernon, Severus Snape, Lord Voldemort)

fwiw, the people behind me reading the Showbill didn't even notice it wasn't Noma on ("Harry, Ron, and Hermione are all the original London cast! Oh, so is Scorpius and Albus, wow!"); Adeola was excellent

Does anyone know who James Brown III is taking over from? He mentions in an interview about leaving Frozen that he was offered a principle contract for Harry Potter...he's now on the website but can't see that anyone has left apart from Gideon Turner (who was only in temporarily and not in a main role.) Any one know?

I don't think they've announced it yet, it's something I've been keeping an eye on also. Having seen the show before, if I had to guess I'd say maybe the sorting hat/Hagrid, or Bane? He's got the build for both of those... again, purely my personal speculation.

1. ^^^ It's possible he can't say. I don't think anyone really knows what characters anyone is playing apart from the principal 8, unless you go to see the show since their roles aren't listed on the website.

2. I can't believe both MAJOR brand shows are already going through some cast changes, neither are even 6 months old yet! And James get's to be in BOTH in less than 5 months!!

Outside of the MAIN cast (Harry, Hermoine, Albus, etc) the actors are NOT permitted to talk about their roles. When I was talking about it going to see it on my facebook, an old co-worker that went as well was talking about it with me. She has a own friend in the show but didn't find out she was playing on of the main supporting roles until she sat down with a playbill and read the cast list. All her friend was allow to say was "yes, I am in the show." The secrecy on this production at times goes beyond normal standards of reason into the ridiculous. I could not help but wonder how these actors will be able to list this credit on their resumes in the future if they can't even talk to friends about the name of their character in the production.

Does anyone know if anyone is out today yet? I’m seeing the show tomorrow/Friday and was just curious if anyone was on vaca (I know Ron is the only one from London who hasn’t taken vacation yet.) thanks!

I saw in an Instagram comment that Saturday the 25th apparently is his first show!
