Got the option to get a pair of cheap tickets for cursed child part 2 but we haven’t seen part 1? Anyone else done this? We’re huge Harry Potter fans but...

Maybe if you have read the play already. I would go see another show instead and just wait.
Not worth it considering Part II resolves some BIG cliffhangers set up by Part I.

Bad idea. Where are these cheap tix and for what date?
Part II would be ridiculously confusing without knowing what happened in Part I.
You'd probably never understand half the things that happen without seeing part one. Terrible idea, imo.
If you have read the play, then yes that's fine. But if you haven't, then I agree with others saying it's not a good idea.

Like others said, if you read the scripr and *really* need to see it this time, it might work, but if you haven't read the script, absolutely not. It's 100% a really long two part show, not like Angels in America where you can probably get away with seeing just one part alone.
Don't do it.

You guys are awesome. Thanks for all the feedback. We decided against it, they were decent seats at only $40 each.

How about a slightly different question. I'm tempted to go but I find the tickets very expensive. I am thinking of seeing one part from a great seat and one part from a less expensive seat in back.
Which part should I see from up close?

I vote for Part Two. I think it's the more intimate part, and there are large-scale effects in Part One that are best seen from the dress circle and balcony.

I agree with this. I've seen both parts from the Dress Circle (and will see them from the balcony in October but I've only seen part 2 from the orchestra and it's the part I'd prefer to see from the closer/better seats.
Not gonna say why, but for part two of you are splurging, opt for an aisle seat, no matter how far back. It’s totally worth it if you are already willing to spend money , (A seat on the center aisle, seats 1 or 2 only in the orch)

I understand why you're suggesting this, but the thing you're talking about lasts only about 30 seconds. It's hardly a good reason to look for an aisle seat specifically, and end up too far from the stage. For the bulk of Part Two, I think it's much more important to be in the front orchestra, row J or closer, no matter how far off the aisle.
I'd say sitting in Orchestra Row K is ok too given it has a lot of legroom!!!
I sat in row M in orchestra and loved the seat (the director John Tiffany was sitting in row L).

Thank you so much, everyone! I've taken your advice and bought a cheaper Part 1 ticket, now hunting for a great Part 2 ticket. I think they may end up being several weeks apart but I can live with that.

What seat did get for Part One, if you don't mind my asking?
