"Cursed" Theatres

I was inspired by the discussion in the Tootsie thread and was wondering which theatres are considered "cursed" or haven't had a hit in a long time. I was made even more curious, because a few days ago when I discovered that American Son would be opening at the Booth Theatre, I didn't see any production that had a long run at that particular theatre for a very long time. Now, I don't know if any of these productions were a success or not, but I did notice their run at the theatre were short.

Majestic is totally cursed. They can't get rid of this one renter who's been squatting for forever now.

@OnBroadway4 I don't believe in curses (some people do, and ghosts as well). I do believe there are undesirable theatres and those theatres get shows that are not offered anything better because they seem like flops. So it's chicken/egg.

@nasty_khakis The lion's share of the rent is the percentage of gross, which obviously has increased enormously over the years. But typically the fixed rent has an annual increase built in and of course a large share of the other amounts paid to the landlord consists of pass-throughs of labor and expenses like utilities, and those obviously also go up. So in the scheme of things nobody frets too much about the fixed rent.

Booth is a smaller theater and tend to attract mostly plays, which normally doesn't last over a year or is a limited engagement due to the star.

Ironically, the lyric got rid of its curse by getting a "Cursed" tenant.
