There's a clip of Curt performing "I'm Alive" on TV and I cannot believe he was hired as Gabe. Brian Crum is infinitely more talented them him, vocally. It's almost like the producers casted him because he resembles Aaron Tveit (Original Gabe). Definitely not my favorite rendition of the song, but you can clearly tell he wasn't giving it his all in that performance. He was either tired or trying to conserve his voice for an actual performance.
Awkward performance. But he sure is cute!
He's GORGEOUS. And my gawd, that body and those arms--I'm in love. He was also wonderful in the show and a real highlight of the tour.
His voice is very similar to Kyle Dean's. And that last note was amazing!!
Hmmm...I think he did pretty decent. Not the best rendition of the song but what I've heard of him from a real performance is miles better then this. I'm guessing this is a morning show...and this is a pretty high energy song so maybe he didnt warm up enough or was just in a down mood or something. I'm certainly not gonna judge 2 1/2 hours of a solid performance from this :)

Yeah, I think it's pretty darn good considering the fact that he's singing it out of context at 9am.
I saw the tour twice in LA and was never impressed with him, or his voice. The first night I saw it, he cracked horribly on his hign note.
The second time, I could tell his voice wasn't up to par, and he didn't even try to go up on the last note.
I felt like I was watching someone perform drunken karaoke in the Bahamas throughout that video.
Although, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt being that it was so early.
Kyle Dean is miles better than Curt. Miles. Listen to Kyle's last note and you'll see what I mean.

If he struggles with the last note, why don't they just put it back where it's written?

Since when do they sell those shirts? I need one.
I've been searching for that shirt since I saw the video and can't find it.
He's gorgeous. I wasn't impressed with that rendition, but it was early in the morning, so I won't judge him.
I thought that shirt was ugly...having the house on it is just too busy.
He didn't sound like this when I saw the show early in the run. I think that the show is hurting his voice a bit. He sounded much better when I saw it, the high note sounded very good the first time, but he didn't bother the second time. I think his tone is actually well suited for this kind of music, more so then Parade. I think it must be awkward to perform this song just standing there when you're used to running around and swinging on the set. Having him look into one of the cameras did not help.

"having the house on it is just too busy."
I think the "Superboy" t-shirt is more busy than the one Curt's wearing.
I don't like the Superboy t-shirt, either. Another ugly design.
That's their national tour shirt. It's got the tour cities all down the back.

Okay, he's not tone deaf here people, it's just a different approach. He seems to be hitting the notes very hard...Kyle and Aaron just seem to use their voices perhaps a bit better, or at least pull back at times and smooth some things out. Curt has a lot of glottal stops which makes the sounds seem very harsh. I wonder if he takes a harsher, more menacing approach on the role, as well. Kyle was slightly sweeter (and Brian Crum was almost entirely sweet and gentle) - ugh i hate saying WAS - and their character choices were really reflected in their vocals.
But come on, for 9 in the morning, Curt rocked it out pretty hard.
Humming Along, Curt plays Gabe more creepy than I've seen it done in the past. I loved his take on it. It really adds to Alice's intensity.

Thanks, provocation. Sounds like his vocal take on it would really add to his character choices, then!

I've never liked a Gabe since Tveit.
His singing wasn't spectacular.. but his acting was fierce.
I was terrified of what Gabe was going to do to this family by the end... it haunted me.
The others have played it too cutesy and sexy for me.
Kyle Dean's voice gets on my nerves. Though, I know him to be a really sweet guy.

Indeed. :)
He can sound much better though.
I liked when the audio was out of sync with the video because I could imagine his mouth was doing other things.
