“Drag: The Musical”has announced the dates of its off-Broadway run.
The show, about two rival drag bars that go head-to-head amid financial troubles, was written by “RuPaul’s Drag Race” star Alaska Thunder****, Tomas Costanza and Ashley Gordon. It is directed and choreographed by Spencer Liff.
Preview performances begin on Sept. 30 at New World Stages followed by the official opening night on Oct. 21. The cast includes Thunder**** (through Jan. 11, 2025), Jujubee, Jan Sport, Lagoona Bloo, J. Elaine Marcos and features New Kids on the Block’s Joey McIntyre (through Nov. 24). Additional cast members will be announced shortly.
“When I first moved to Los Angeles, I dreamt of being an actor,” Thunder**** said in a statement on Monday. “Then I realized being an actor is hard, so I became a drag queen. Now, after almost 20 years of drag, I’ve written myself into a musical. I think New York audiences are going to love this sweet and simple tale of drag queens being ****y to one another. What I’m trying to say is: dreams really do come true.”
Grateful Jujubee has been rescued from the never-happened production of Death Drop. And that I’ll finally be able to see Alaska live somewhere other than 3 Dollar Bill.

I'm still holding out hope we get Death Drop at some point, but this has dates announced and tickets already on sale, so it's much further along than Death Drop ever got.
For anyone interested, code DGAFAN24 is good through Sunday for $47 mezzanine tickets (and some other discounted orchestra seats) for all of previews.
