"It's a great feeling of power to be naked in front of people. We're happy to watch actual incredible graphic violence and gore, but as soon as somebody's naked it seems like the public goes a bit bananas about the whole thing."

I feel so naughty watching these guys get up and THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW I'M HERE. I also feel sassy listening in on the webcasters muahahaha. One of them sounds like Alan Alda.

"At the opening night party, they had clowns on stilts, jugglers, a chocolate fountain, popcorn, hot dogs. [My son] looked at me like I had been holding back. Like, 'This is what you do?' I had to tell him, 'No, no, darling. Opening nights don't usually look like this.' It's usually a dark bar with a bottle of vodka." ?Chitty Chitty Bang Bang's Jan Maxwell plus i proudly share the title of the shortest member over the age of 10 with wickedrentq!

Commentators are awful. I hope they aren't getting paid - they're not doing anything helpful. I'd do much better - and I don't even need a script.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

ljay- Agreed. re: DRAMA DESK AWARDS - WEBcast Live NOW!

God, I am literally praying that Bee takes home Best Musical. Wouldnt that be a wonderful push for it to take the Tony? If only the real Best Musical of the Year won at these types of things.

Eww Fogler? Why?

Anyone else think Piazza has a really good chance to win the Tony for Best Original Score after winning Outstanding Music?

re: DRAMA DESK AWARDS - WEBcast Live NOW!

More like midnight. There are still 15 awards to go and more performances. They probably won't even be back until 10:50.

Awww they turned on the "Will begin shortly" thing.

Fogler came off to me as thinking he was being funnier than he actually was.
