I'll take that bet.
Speaking of Charles Nelson Reilly, I recently watched the documentary "The Life of Rielly" which is basically his one man show. It was basically him being the man in chair. PERFECT casting.
I'd love to see Beth Leavel as the Chaperone!
Wouldn't be surprised if Judy Davis is one of the names being thrown around for the Chaperone- she's worked with Rush often , and the two of them have just done "Eye of the Storm" with Schepisi. And can someone make that Grindr scenario happen? (and I do mean in the movie, not in my normal life...)

You know, if the Grindr date was the guy from Mystery Science Theatre,...
Re Judy Davis- I know more than a few people in TO who will not work on anything she is on. She was vile to a a lot of hardworking film people here whe she did the Judy Garland film.
If it is a Canadian co production, there are Canadian Content rules that would have to be met for the film to be eligible for Telefilm funding, (Yes I KNOW the original writers are all Canucks that would NOT be enuf) I'm thinking Andrea Martin for the Chaperone and I'll bet Nia Vardalos gest in there somewheres too.
Anyone know more about this? Can't even find that it's in production.

So, is this happening?
This was rumoured just after the Melbourne Production had finished its run

I would love for the right creative team to figure out how to make this work on film.
And Rush would be a great Man In Chair.
Don't stone me, but I could see Justin Timberlake as Man in Chair.
Pat Sajak is playing The Man in the Chair in Connecticut starting next week. Putting him on film would surely be a draw...
