I'm so glad they got a theatre. This is such a wonderful musical treat. Seeing it was one of the great theatre going pleasures I've had in recent years. And it's definitely the most hilarious.

re: DROWSY WILL TAKE THE MARQUIS!

Yay for "The Drowsy Chaperone", but sad for me. I already have tickets to the 6 shows for my upcoming trip. Maybe "Lestat" won't make it to Broadway?

Not my fave theater for this show either...it's just too big and I wonder how long Drowsy can fill a house that size. I wish they'd wait until Chita closed.

re: DROWSY WILL TAKE THE MARQUIS!

it would have to open by the beginning of May to make the 2006 Tony deadline. (May 10th is it? Someone correct me or confirm that date. Thanks!)

re: DROWSY WILL TAKE THE MARQUIS!

I've been having a really good day, all in all, but this just tops it all!
While this is not my first choice of theatres either, I'm just so glad to see this show find a home.
And Sutton could have her old dressing room back!

"At the opening night party, they had clowns on stilts, jugglers, a chocolate fountain, popcorn, hot dogs. [My son] looked at me like I had been holding back. Like, 'This is what you do?' I had to tell him, 'No, no, darling. Opening nights don't usually look like this.' re: DROWSY WILL TAKE THE MARQUIS!

Beings it ran successfully here in LA, I would assume they would only need a week of two of tech...if they retained the entire cast, then it's just a matter of working out the kinks in the new space and then open for previews.

re: DROWSY WILL TAKE THE MARQUIS!

Do peope forget how Sutton, an unknown, sold a good portion of the theater before she won the tony. I don't think she will have much of a problem doing it again.

Anyways with that said, is she out of her brace yet?

Wow! This would be wonderful!

Sutton vs. Patti. This I gotta see.

re: DROWSY WILL TAKE THE MARQUIS!

I think Sutton will be considered featured, not lead. So it would be Sutton vs. Felicia Fields.
