Think I might actually get to go opening night! I have never been to an official Broadway opening night before...this will be so amazing...crossing fingers.
Sutton playing a 1920s woman with her sights set on getting married? Gee, quelle surprise. Isn't it time to retire Millie?

Oh Macy--it's so not that....she's a standout in a standout ensemble.....it's worth it just for her showstopper "Show Off"
Sutton is "astonishing" in anything she does on stage!
How are you getting to go to opening night?

OMG...shilly mcwho? I WISH I was a shill...then I would be working in theater full time. The connection is a press connection through my current employ in the television business.
I just love this darn show to pieces....not crazy like the Wicked kids, but when I love something, I mean business!
:)
You don't say.

>i hope all this hype doesn't leave me disappointed with the end result.
"WithoutATrace," I hope so, too. It's hard to know what's been built up in your mind. I went with very low expectations because I thought, from the poster, that this was a straight parody of an old show -- something I knew I would hate since I don't really like music "from the 20's." So, the way the show was presented was an utter delight to me.
What I will tell you is that this is not a "spectacular." It's an intimate show that played very well in the gigantic Ahmanson. Or rather, it plays like an intimate show. I could see this just as easily working in some summer theatre with barebones sets and young actors. The delight of the show is that it's written so well and with such heart. Unlike many shows around, this feels like it was crafted by actual theatre people who've (gasp) actually seen a show before.

I appreciate anyone supporting a show they love on the boards, but touching themselves in their pic is another thing.

Why didn't they hold out for the Schoenfield where they could be a big hit and re-coop like "Q"?
TONY Fever?

To thee who said it's all about her showstopper "Show Off" -- you are SO, SO right. I loved that song so much, and it (along with "I Am Aldolpho") made me totally want to get a CD coming ASAP.

Are there any clips online? I have not heard a snippet from the show...
