Wow...bit of a mess, isn't it? When I saw the new contents of that Broadway.com link, I actually laughed out loud. This is crazy.

Glad to see it's back on for the 3rd, then. This whole ordeal with DRS going to the brink of death and back has been exhausting for the past few hours...I'm just so thankful it's alive, I guess I have no choice but to try and see it again on the 2nd. re: DRS closing a week early (?)

Can I just say, I LOVE your icon! lol

Haha, thanks. :)

Some crazy misconception or issue today at Broadway.com

And to think I called Telecharge worried about my 9/3 tickets!

...What happened next, was stranger still, a woman breathless and afraid, appeared out of the night, completely dressed in white. She had a secret she would tell, of one who had mistreated her. Her face and frightened gaze, my mind cannot erase...But then she ran from view. She looked so much like you...

I hate to break it to you all. Now, I know this is not the most reliable source, but the lottery guy confirmed that the show is closing on 8/27. It was posted yesterday, the cast has been told.

Mm hmm. I heard last night via six degrees where the first degree was a cast member. I heard it as definite news, not depending on ticket sales.

So this is sounding quasi-official for this Sunday, then? Arg! I really wanted to go to the last, but I don't think I'm going to be able to get back into the city on the 27th. Blast! (And I really wanted to get BDJ to sign my Inishmore window card...he's the only one I'm missing).

I feel bad for DRS.
I walked by it on my way to WEDDING SINGER and it looked pretty dead outside upon lottery and rush time. It was really sad.

We lost a good one...- DRS {R.I.P.}

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" is closing Sept. 3. No wait, it's Aug. 27. No wait, it's Sept. 3.
Producers of Broadway tuner "Scoundrels," which announced last week it was shuttering Sept. 3, put up a new closing notice Tuesday saying that if sales didn't pick up, the show would end Sunday, a week early. Wednesday afternoon the notice came down.

So the original Sept. 3 closing date remains in effect, meaning that the production, which last week grossed $444,660, will stick it out through Labor Day, when grosses across the board traditionally hit a major back-to-school slump.

Sales at "Scoundrels" took a serious slide a few weeks ago, when cast members Jonathan Pryce and Norbert Leo Butz, who won a Tony for his perf in the show, departed and were replaced by Keith Carradine and Brian d'Arcy James. Show's national tour is playing L.A., its second stop.

Ah, it's true...DRS closes the 27th, and on the 28th Constantine Maroulis moves into the Imperial to do his one-man version of Les Mis with special guest Nathan Lane in the audience.

This has been such a crazy and confusing day of posting, I don't know what to believe anymore. But sadly, I guess I'll believe you guys...once again, for maybe the third time today, farewell DRS. You've had more false endings than the third Lord of the Rings movie, my friend, but I guess this is it.

EDIT: Holy CRAP! I just saw the last post--are you kidding me? I can't take this anymore. This is really insane.

That's sad news. I thought this show would be in for an extended run. It's so hilarious. I was able to see it pre-Broadway in San Diego and I'll be seeing it tomorrow in LA with Norbert. Didn't think this would be the end of the Broadway run, though. How can Hairspray still be there and this show gets closed?? I don't get it.
