Was wondering if anyone on the west coast has seen Dame Edna's show? (I know there's an LA message board, but it looks quiet) I had a question....
Could you recommend a safe place in the orchestra to sit? I love Edna, but would rather not to be part of the show. Is row J, centre orch, two seats off aisle okay?

Posted: 3/9/15 at 3:30pmI've seen the show 3 times here in LA. Row J, 2 on the aisle is perfect. All of the action takes place center stage, so you'll be just fine! Enjoy!

Posted: 3/9/15 at 3:34pmI find it shocking this isn't coming to NYC. Did the flop of "All About Me" leave a sour taste in Humphries mouth?

Posted: 3/9/15 at 4:00pmI kind of want to see it, but I won't be sad if I missed it. It sounds like a fun night, but I have no idea who the drag queen is.

Posted: 3/9/15 at 4:30pmI've seen it in Los Angeles and you'll be perfectly safe in Row J. I consider myself a sort of seat snob...but Edna's where I draw the line. I want to watch the show, not costar in it!

Posted: 3/9/15 at 4:51pmI laughed so much at the show. What's great about it too is that no two shows are the same, especially with the audience involvement. The end of the show was also bittersweet but a very nice coda to an illustrious career.

Not knowing what to do with it (Dame Edna was instructing us to hold them high and wave them in the air) I hastily handed it to the lady sitting next to me.

Posted: 3/10/15 at 2:10amI think I posted this elsewhere, but I saw the tour in LA last week with a packed house and a surprisingly diverse capacity matinee audience and it was, easily, one of the most joyous times I've had in a theatre. Seen Dame Edna at least 4 times, but I don't think I ever laughed this hard and this long. If you've seen her before, the show is exactly what you'd expect and, yet, she continued to surprise and delight. I am amazed at how sharp and quick Humphries' wit remains even has he enter his 80s. It's a shame she won't be ending her run on Broadway.

I saw it 6th row center orchestra. I was a bit nervous.... but she only "interacted" with people up to the 4th row.
I did feel sorry for the two casually dressed young ladies who arrived late and sat in the first row.
... well.. maybe not exactly "sorry"... :)

I was in the 4th row just off center -- and lived in constant fear throughout the show! Dame targeted 3 people right in front of me and the 2 immediately to my right, but I survived unscathed. Did get a lovely gladiolus, however.
I don't think anyone beyond the 5th row was picked (and that guy actually ended up on stage).

Posted: 3/10/15 at 11:28pmHave seen Dame Enda many, many times, and in 2004 when the show was at The Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa, Dame Edna spoke to my friend Jo Anne quite a lot during the show and brought her up on stage during Act 2. She did a skit on The Royal Family and Jo Anne was dressed up as Fergie and got a poloroid pic of the 2 of them together. Such a wonderful night!
