Well they are probably doing target marketing. If you have searched for a particular show, it is more likely that their ads will pop up on your screen. For example, I kept thinking about buying a ticket to Motown once because I had yet to see it, and so I was looking at their website. For the next week, any time I clicked on a video, their commercial was the first thing I saw.
It's basically the fact that they start previews in a little over 2 months and there's been no casting announcement. Hopefully we hear something soon.

Ads doesn't equate to buzz, especially when the ad doesn't have much of a selling point. With no cast announced they can't use big names, and they don't have any new promotional material and artwork because they don't have a cast to put in it.

Not knowing much about the show, is it basically 42nd Street on the high seas? It's a show I'd love to see.
It's a cast of wonderfully talented people, but no one I'm really excited about.
I think this one's going to be a very tough sell.
The musical is a parody of large, flashy 1930s Busby Berkeley-style movie musicals in which an understudy steps into a role on Broadway and becomes a star. It originally played Off-Off-Broadway in 1966 at the Caffe Cino, starring newcomer Bernadette Peters and then played Off-Broadway beginning in 196 for a successful run.
It was adapted for television in 1971 starring Ann-Margret, Harvey Evans, Fred Gwynne, Anne Meara, Ann-Miller and Dick Shawn.

No Laura Osnes?
Laura Osnes will be doing something else that should be announced shortly.
Wow so Lesli is literally going right across the street.
That cast seems more like one you would expect to see at the Westside Arts or out of town. I'm sure they're all very talented, but...
I still think very fondly of the Lamb's Theatre revival in 1985; that production was letter perfect - the tiny size of the theatre, the wild young talent, the original arrangements, director, choreographer. I hope this one is as good. But I fear that Randy Skinner hasn't proven himself to be as adept with comedy or style as he is with tap.
Great casting!! So happy Davi is apart of this!
Not very exciting but nice to see Bolton and Davi back on Broadway.
Good for these actors but without people like Laura Osnes and Rachel York I lost all interest in seeing the show.
So know you see why producers go for big names or well known names or "Hollywood" names for their productions because even if the actor is right for the role but is not known theatergoers will not go to see it or give it a chance even if the show happens to be a good one.

Well, we've all seen this show done "good;" but what's the point of reviving it on Broadway unless it's going to be "unusually good?" And (to me) this cast and (especially) director, based on what I've seen of their work, suggest that it's just going to be "OK."
I love Margherita in Matilda, but it's all I've seen her do - Mona Kent is a completely different role vocally, but I'm happy to believe that Margherita has more than the one character voice she used as Mrs. Wormwood.
I liked Davi OK in Chorus Line, much less in Chaperone, White Christmas or at Encores.
I've seen the others in several shows, based on their bios, and have absolutley no memory of any of them.

Was Cary Tedder already announced for Allegiance or is his ibdb page an error?

CarlosAlberto, I wouldn't describe York or Osnes as big names of any sort, just working actresses who seemed like fresh and exciting choices for these roles. I'm sure everyone here is ideally cast but I'm someone who seeks to see shows with people I like. The idea of the show itself doesn't particularly excite me so the casting simply contributes to that lack of excitement.

Finally! Excited, especially to see Mara Davi back on Broadway. Because of the show, these six have to be absolute dynamos. I've seen threads recently talking about break out roles. Maybe Dames will do it for one of these six.
Laura is doing Bandstand at Papermill which I heard is a train wreck and will probably never come to broadway. wrong choice, but she doesnt want to be seen as a girl who only does revivals so i guess
I knew Lesli was gonna be in this for the longest time because one of my friends told me

Gotcha. I understand.
