"The TV Addict is thrilled to report first that actor Daniel Clark will soon be trading in his signature wife-beater for threads more befitting an 1890’s German high school student. Word is that Clark is set to make his Broadway debut in the Tony Award winning musical SPRING AWAKENING come January 2008."

Posted: 8/10/07 at 7:52pmWord on TGO is that he'll be covering for Moritz and Melchior. Seems like a bad idea to me, I love Degrassi but his acting is kind of iffy(I'll admit, most of those kids aren't great thespians). But until SA themselves confirms it I won't believe it.

I'm a HUGE Degrassi fan! And I'm excited to see him in this show! He is one of the better talets on the show. :)

He doesn't seem like a Melchoir at all... he's just not the young-looking lovestruck kid that little girls could fall in love with, and I think the role calls for that. If he lost a bit of his gym weight I could definately see him being Moritz though.
That being said, I can't imagine him singing. Especially not "Don't Do Sadness". But if Kim Grigsby works with him, hell anything's possible.
I agree that the acting in Degrassi is iffy at times (see Spinner), yet there are some fantastic actors on the show (see Marco)... In my opinion, Daniel Clark is somewhere in between.

Posted: 8/11/07 at 10:30amThat's even more of a stretch. I just can't see him pulling off Hanschen AT ALL; The Word of Your Body (Reprise) would be so unintentionally awkward with him just being part of it.

Posted: 8/11/07 at 12:03pmI may be biased because I'm such a Degrassi nerd, but I think he could pull it off. Even I have to admit that Degrassi is a little constricting in the different ways an actor can portray there character. So doing some other work might allow Daniel to show a little something extra that he wouldn't normally be able to. He is an actor after all. And if he's doing his job as an actor he should be able to perform any role just fine.
