I actually liked "Oklahoma" but this sounds like complete CRAP. I hope this ends with this concert.

Green's excessive criticism feels a tad premature given that the piece is a work-in-progress.

Green was invited to review the show. That's how the press/press agent relationship works. Thus, any criticism is fair game...having not seen the production, this is a totally fair, constructive review. It's not b*tchy, and it's not saying that Daniel Fish should flee the American theatre. But it is obvious that this production needs a lot of work, and a title like this will never be as viable as Oklahoma. Not every show needs to make it to Broadway. Any NYC/Broadway plans would have to be approved by the Loesser estate, too.

I agree it's a pretty fair review, citing what the piece seems to be aiming for while acknowledging how it's currently fairing at that, in its present state.

Having just seen it, I think there are some good points he makes, and I'm impressed at that insights he was able to glean from it. I'm curious about the piece's next steps and what a full production would bring to it.

Wow, that is quite a pan. As a fan of the original, even before this review I was wondering what the point of this adaptation was. Sounds like an experiment for experiment’s sake for sure.
