SILBER ALL THE WAY! Saw her do Song of Norway at Carnegie Hall. This news makes me so happy- I adore her. Maybe she'll finally get a Tony nomination, as she's done most of her leading roles in revivals of classics around the world.
L'chaim!
Melanie Moore is like the definition of what a non-Jewish person looks like.

^ Nice picture. :)
I'm soooo curious to know how the design is going to be. I mean, it's a great show. One of my favorites. But I think it's tough to make it a "must see." Especially without the grandeur of Lincoln Center's space.
I do wonder if they are planning on re-instating some of the fabled cut "Chavelah Ballet" for Melanie Moore. Why else would you cast a dancer in the role?

Knowing Sher's track-record I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if they did.

In every production I've seen that I can recall, "Chaveleh (Little Bird)" includes some very poignant ballet, particularly for Chava. I didn't realize there was more extensive, let alone fabled, ballet in this number that is generally cut.
The only cut I'm aware of is that the song was not included in the original cast recording.

I'm really looking forward to this production.
What's the reason behind this push back?
and why hasn't the full cast been announced? Releasing just a few names every other week is very odd.
^ Yeah, that is odd. I'll be in NYC in January, and this is one of the shows I really want to see. I hope they don't push back the opening date more.
The casting choices seems pretty spot on to me.
