A couple of men were attacked physically and this is fodder for your amusement. Not so long ago one of you on this board had a car defaced and everyone here was all upset and supportive.
So it's only really important if it happens to one of you or yours, yes?
How dare you or Brody inhibit or belittle Nick's opinions?
Maybe I missed something, but isn't that pretty much exactly what you're doing to their opinions? Or is it that the only opinions to belittle are the ones you disagree with? It's abit confusing.
How about you get out there and do something or say something other than being a big fish on a small board.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't pretend to know what other people do or don't do all the time. It's sort of the nature of the internet, right?
I agree that BrodyFosse's comments about Nick Adams were inappropriate and irrelevant, but I just don't see how this turned specifically into a Kringas vanity thread simply because he didn't like Nick's tone much in the same way Nick didn't like BrodyFosse's.
Sorry, I just thought that was really weird.
No, words are not the same as fists, but they certainly can lead to fists rather quickly.
If Nick is taking the time to tweet regarding a message board post, then he certainly isn't above ridiculing those who post on them. That's the real douchey part.
What else? Oh, yeah.
Cigarette burns, epithets and shoving are NOT travesties; it happens every single day in this city.
Homophobic violence is always a travesty. Just as is any other act of violence incited by bigotry, hate, greed, jealousy, lust, etc. Do I think this is an iconic event comparable to the fate of Matthew Shepard? No. But the more these events are featured, the more they heighten awareness. Remember Paul Broussard? Most people don't because it was back in 1991.
I certainly remember Paul Broussard. The case got really odd in '99 or so when one of the leading gay rights activists in Houston started arguing for one of his killers' release. It was kind of like that whole "it really wasn't homophobia" rewriting things, much like the vile Elizabeth Vargas did with Matthew Shepard.

Yeah, that was regarding Jon Buice's attempt at atoning for his sins and making amends. Didn't work, though. Funny how he didn't think to do that before Matthew Shepard's murder hit the news.
Yup, and he's STILL trying, apparently.
Maybe if some of us would stop calling ourselves names (Such as "second class citizens"), others would stop calling us names too.
You go Nick Adams.

I honestly don't see what you're confused about. Nick has spoken out honestly about attacks on gay men, and Phyllis and Brody are mocking him for it. Don't you see that difference? Of course this is America, and they can say anything they want, especially on this board.
Dollypop (was it?) has his car defaced, and it's a tragedy - everyone's upset about it, but men are bloodied and burned and that's something to make fun of, simply because you don't like Nick Adams or the way he expresses his opinions?
"Remember Paul Broussard?"
Yes, and well enough that I don't think an "LOL!" belongs anywhere on this thread, and I don't find anything remotely amusing about these recent attacks. Do you, Mr Mattt? Do you find anything about this funny?

Then it sounds like you didn't pay attention to my point. And actually, Phyllis wasn't mocking Nick for his comments on homophobic attacks in this thread.

About the attacks? No. Why would you assume I did?

"brodyfosse123 shame on you. I was not present for this hate crime thank god, but how dare you say such a thing. Shame on you. I post about these things to increase awareness and spread support, I don't sit on a broadway message board and talk sh*t. Rethink , rethink." - Nick

"God, Nick Adams can't say anything without sounding like a douche". - Phyllis
We clearly agree that BrodyFosse's comments about Nick Adams were inappropriate and irrelevant, Mr Matt - how is Phyllis' any less so? If she's not mocking him for his for his comments on homophobic attacks in this thread, then what is she mocking him for? Being "douchey" while commenting about homophobic attacks?
"Do you find anything about this funny"?
About the attacks? No. Why would you assume I did?
I didn't assume anything. I asked you a question.
eta: I will take your point that I made an assumption on Phyliis' offline time. Perhaps he works for Meals on Wheels or helps the homeless. I therefore retract that comment

His post was pretty clear. He wasn't mocking Nick for his comments on homophobia. At least, he didn't in this thread.
If a Woman A is talking about battered women and Woman B makes an unwarranted comment about A's previous behavior and A responds in an arrogant hypocritical manner about how they are above activities B engages in which are similar to those A engages in herself, then C calling A a bitch has nothing to do with A or C's opinions on battered women. Got it?

You know, anything that puts me on the side of BrodyFosse means I have truly fallen down the rabbit hole.
I kind of think ghostlight2 is in love with me. I will send you nudies of me if you want.
LOL Phyllis, LOL!

I also love that I've been called he, she, Phyllis and Kringas all in this one thread. I will answer to any of them.
Oops, I did call you Kringas, didn't I? I guess it was the nostalgia kicking in. I was reliving the days when I was a much bigger buttinski than I am now.
Update on the attack.
Decorated Airman Suspected In NYC Gay Attack
Good to hear someone is making an effort to bring this jerk to justice
They agreed to turn over the prosecution to the military??? Did I read that correctly? The guy will probably get some kind of award.
CATSNYrevival, the reason why they are turning the case over to the military is due to the fact that the military is notorious for making sure that cases involving their members are taken care of internally. And, furthermore they are known for making it a pain for cops who try to do otherwise. So, it looks to me that the NYPD is just avoiding what will be a major headache and and giving the case over to the military.
