You are beautiful but you don't line up right on my cd shelf!

That just made my night. :)
That type of thing drives me mad! It's why I started storing everything on a hard drive and putting the booklets into a book.

Here's a pic of my cd shelf, if anyone cares to see. My Dad made it for my Birthday.
I care! Can your dad make one for me? :)
He's pretty crafty isn't he? I showed him a bookshelf from Crate and Barrel, and he took that design, and sized it for cd's. It's great.
mine is exactly the same. except my shelf stacks diagonally so it fits in the opposite way. but, aside from that the packaging is beautiful...

You are incredibly organized! Everything's even alphabetized!
Ok I need someone to come to my apartment and organize my showtune collection like that. Organized, alphabetized, in order. It's a dream! (sigh).
I love organizing cd collections. It makes me feel so focused.
the picture is too blurry, but my CDs are all alphabetized too. I finally gave in when I started not being able to find certain CDs. it's so much better. I almost want to buy those letter dividers that they use to organize CDs at stores... but then I feel like I should have show labels too for some of the shows that I have six different recordings for... maybe I'll do both... I dunno...

I don't know why the packaging has to be so huge. I have the soundtracks to the original Star Wars movies, and they have the same sort of thing (an actual book that serves as the CD case as well), and they fit very nicely with the rest. Odd.
But, either way, its a wonderful cast recording.
Phantom of the opera's film soundtrack has a book like that as well that isn't ginormous.
And I alphabetize my shows by composer...and usually listen to them in order....I'm a dork I know, but sometimes it's fun to listen to a person's catalog.

How come you don't have the Encores version of "Do Re Mi" with Nathan Lane, Randy Graff, Brian Stokes Mitchell and Heather Headley?
Lol. I heart you Gothampc. I've heard the recording, but I just haven't found it at a price I like. I prefer the OBC, but do plan on getting it soon.

BobbyBubby, you a have a beautiful collection and the shelf is down right gorgeous. Thanks for posting the picture!
THe sad thing is, I took that picture of the entire shelf only a few weeks ago, and at least half of one of those shelves is full of new stuff. I have an addiction!
Wow. I envy your collection:)
I'd have a similar addiction, but my landlord prefers I pay the rent first.
When I can't pay the rent, I use my recordings of Edwin Drood, Whoop-UP, and Minnie's Boys as collateral.

Why is Edwin Drood so darn expensive? I would love a copy, but I ain't fixin to shell out 200 bucks for one cd!
It's out of print. There are 2 versions, one with more alternate endings.
ooh, it's pretty. And I see Company!!
I need to buy the London cast too, but it isn't my cup of tea.
Yeah, but when you own all the others, you just kind of have to have it. Otherwise, you hear it calling out to you in the night.
"Incompleeeete! Incompleeeeete!"
