Hop a casino bus to Atlantic City, play slots and see what kind of random entertainment they have to offer there.
Walk Central Park from end to end. Find the waterfalls!
Explore the neighborhoods. Pick one you haven't been too recently, or go to often, and just walk the streets. It's amazing what you'll come across!
Go to Bleecker St., pay the $5 cover at The Bitter End and listen to some local musicians for a few hours. Or go to The Living Room on Ludlow St. for free and listen all night long!
Stand outside Madame Tussad's and count how many people take their picture with the wax Samuel L. Jackson.

Thanks marvin! I'm really excited about it. 
I don't have to start officially working on it until January, but I'm already amassing quite a lot of information and am planning to visit the Transit Museum in October.
Sorry, enough of my threadjacking.

That does sound ridiculous, it's crowded nearly EVERY day. Tuesday's are no exception. I've found that sunday's are less crowded then Wednesday matinee's, so each day is fairly crowded, meaning weekdays too.
