Darren Criss & Lea Salonga at Marie's Crisis

I did a search and find it hard to believe no one has posted this yet. Apparently Darren Criss and Lea Salonga are friends and they popped by Marie's Crisis to sing "A Whole New World" and "On My Own." Pretty much would have died had I been there.

My favorite part of it is when Solonga calls Criss a 'f*cking @sshole.' That's some good sh*t right there.

Alan Cummings said he and Criss did "I don't care much" at the Crisis as well. Guess he's a regular?

Criss has been there several times. He's always really great. Cumming is a frequent goer, too, along with Julianna Margulies.

It may technically be a gay bar, but it is also the best and most frequented piano bar in New York.

Marie's, as darquegk, is a gay-leaning bar, but it does enjoy a healthy straight clientele. On any given night, there are many straight couples there, either because they love show tunes or to see a well-known bar in the city.

So bummed! I was supposed to be there that night but my friend cancelled our plans. Then we found out about this. I would've loved to see me some Lea Salonga live.

It's a good thing he's pretty because, man, Darren Criss's voice is so mediocre. Definitely a studio "singer."

He is not a musical theatre vocalist in real life. He's an indie singer-songwriter whose voices is suited for that sort of thing. He just happens to LIKE singing show tunes as well.

As voices go, he is good for his genre, but it's not a showstopping voice onstage.

what the hell is an "indie pop" singer?
As a gay man, he's too gay for my taste, for a straight man.
And his voice is generally annoying.
Lea knows of what she speaks.
