Posted: 11/15/05 at 6:31pmHe doesn't get enough credit. This man should be brought to the Broadway stage. He did an AMAZING job in the role of the Wizard on tour. He has been the only Wizard I have liked, and ended up loving. His "Wonderful" was exciting and filled with energy. BRING THIS MAN TO BROADWAY--he is THE Wizard.

Posted: 11/15/05 at 6:39pmHe's been a first-rate performer since the 70s with several Broadway credits (and Tony and Drama Desk nods). Glad to hear he's still working.

He was terrific as the Wizard in L.A. The Broadway production would definitely benefit if he joined their company. Regardless, people are in for a treat wherever they see David on stage. I also saw him as Nathan Detroit at the very same Los Angeles theatre (the Pantages), when the national tour of "Guys and Dolls" came through several years ago. He was great then, opposite Lorna Luft's Adelaide. Many laughs.
A very solid performer.

This MAN (David Garrison) was already on Broadway. He was one of the leads in TITANIC the musical, that won many Tony Awards in 1997.

First saw him in A Day in Hollywood A Night in the Ukraine. We also saw him in Titanic. Believe he is on the Randy Newman concept album Faust which deserves a shot @ Broadway
He of course will be remembered as Marcy's husband on Married With Children. His comedy work there was under appreciated. The money he got from that & residuals allowed him to go back to the theater

Loved him also. He has such a warmth on stage that makes me go "Can he be my daddy?"

Let's see.. I saw him in DAY IN HOLLYWOOD/NIGHT IN THE UKRAINE, I DO, I DO, RANDY NEWMAN'S FAUST, and TITANIC. He was completely different in each one, and excellent every time.
I notice no one mentioned his last Broadway role - Sandor in the revival of BELLS ARE RINGING, which I hear was pretty awful.

Posted: 11/15/05 at 11:49pmHe's wonderful on the Recording of BELLS ARE RINGING! Didn't see the show, but I love the CD! I would love to do that show someday!

Posted: 11/16/05 at 12:20amI saw him as the Wizard. I really liked his interpretation of the role, but something about him seemed a little dull. Can't figure out what, because he did a good job.

Posted: 11/16/05 at 6:44amI saw him as Charley Kringas in the Arena Stages production of Merrily We Roll Along about 15 years ago or so (with Victor Garber as Frank and Becky Baker as Mary). He was superb.

Posted: 11/16/05 at 9:04pmI first saw David Garrison onstage in I Sent A Letter To My Love at North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly, Mass. He was wonderful in the show!

David Garrison is AWESOME as the Wizard. It's a pretty hard role to make exciting, but I liked his interepretation the BEST of the many wizards I've seen. He really did a great job and made it very enjoyable, I was really surprised and impressed.
List of Wizards I've seen, best to worst (and the worst was pretty good, if I do say so myself.)
1. David Garrison
2. Joel Grey
3. Sean McCourt
4. Gene Weygandt
5. Ben Vereen
