DeGarmo and Federov in Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat

I heard its opening July 21 at the Lyric in Oklahoma. I'm gonna call Degarmo the Energizer Bunny considering the number of shows she has done just this year plus her concert commitments. Go girl.

"I hope he looks good in a diaper."

He said he's been working out for this show and judging by his recent photos he will look very good in a diaper :)
I will judge for myself when I fly to Oklahoma next week to see it.

I'm happy that she is doing a lot of theater to build up her theater resume.
I'm a professional. Whenever something goes wrong on stage, I know how to handle it so no one ever remembers. I flash my %#$&. "Jayne just sat there while Gina flailed around the stage like an idiot."

To Adamgreer
Last year and this it is still tough on Broadway for funding etc.unfortunately Godspell was a casualty. She could sit and mope or get out there and hustle and build up her resume and continue to hone her skills. She recently finished up Back to Bacharach and David in LA. Personally I can see her doing Annie get your gun , Elpheba. She is using her time wisely. PS Federov is no slouch either.

Diana DeGarmo is way too young to convincingly play Annie Oakley, nor could she handle the vocal demands of "Elpheba."

Sorry if I upset you, Mrs. DeGarmo. You have to understand- I have a habit of making Broadway performers cry "for months."

Um, I'm pretty sure she could handle Elphaba. She got through "Brooklyn" pretty damn well.

The arms look fine but he'll probably end up spraying on abs like most chorus boys, with the exception of a few, do for like the Broadway Beauty pageants and all that.

Not feeling that baby face though.

Diana would be a KILLER Elphaba--PLEASE look her up on that site for clips from BKLYN. She got through the entire run of that show without damaging her vocal chords (and she sang it with wonderful technique!). That score is a lot more challenging for the lead actress than Wicked.

re: DeGarmo and Federov in Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat

I've been touting DeGarmo as Annie Oakley for awhile, and for the record, Annie Oakley met Frank Butler when she was 21 and he was 31. So, every onstage/onscreen Annie of which I am aware has been too old to play the part, particularly when Annie siblings are involved. Having said that, the part was written for a fortysomething Merman, and is usually played by actresses that age or older. But casting a younger actress like DeGarmo is closer to the actual history.

DeGarmo seems to be 'paying her dues', touring shows and playing regional theater. I think this will pay off for her, and BIG TIME.

Does Joseph need abs ? Did they have gyms back in the Bible times ? :)

Of course they did. Why do you think Jesus was such a stud? :)

There was definitely a gym in place when Patrick Cassidy played Joseph. I'd say he was almost too ripped. Federov would make a nice change for a younger more innocent looking Joseph. (Who apparently shaves under his arms.)
