So I just realized that the ticket I bought is for the matinee on May 1st. On the website it says that is opening night. Does anyone know if the matinee is the opening performance or will there be an evening performance as well?

Opening night is April 24th, I believe.

^That is really odd especially because I remember asking when I bought my ticket for April 23rd when opening would be and the guy working the box office said April 24th would be opening. That also seems odd to have that long of a preview period and open only a few weeks before the closing date of May 22nd. Odd, very odd.

When I redeemed my flex subscription, I asked about May 1 and was told the evening show wasn't up for public sale because it is opening night.

Interesting. Oh well, I guess the dates weren't completely finalized when I bought that ticket. Either way, it'll be closer to opening than first preview and I'm sure things will be frozen by then.

You mean the rush? They sold out in like a second. I was on at exactly 10am and didn't have a chance.

yes, same thing happened to me. Why do a rush and not a lottery if it's that crazy?

I actually got the rush this morning, was on right at 10, but had friends who tried to get them right at 10 and didn't get them either. Maybe they are only doing 1 pair per performance. Looking forward to the show tonight

Can someone post a song list if included tonight? I'm curious to see what's changed from DC (there was a survey at one of the final shows asking to rank top three songs) and don't go until next Saturday.

Past experience with other shows? Common sense?

Thanks Lizzie. The show is already creating a lot of buzz and is apparently selling very well. That in combination with the fact that 30under30 is already sold out for a lot of performances (most people who use rush are in a younger demographic) and I'm not surprises those rush tickets were in high demand.
Sure, it was the first people and maybe more people entered than will for future performances, but a digital rush still seems like a weird concept to me. It worked for Songbird at 59E59 but that show wasn't selling out, so they had an idea it wouldn't get crazy, and it didn't. That's the only other time I've had an experience with a digital rush.
But if it becomes a gamble on who has the fastest internet connection might as well make it a lottery.

I saw this in DC and really enjoyed it, but I'm not interested in paying what's even the lowest discount I can find right now. And given this team and cast, I'm not surprised it's selling so well.
I need rush to come through for me... or a 30-or-under friend!

OK.
If you think about it it's essentially the same deal. If you enter the lotto and win, you get lucky. If you sign on at 10 and are successful in buying the mobile rush tickets, you get lucky. Just suck it up and be happy they're offering something.

At least with lotto they're throwing you a bone with a few hours of hope, and it's in theory casting a wider net. With rush you know right away. I guess it depends how fast you want to tear a band-aid off a hairy arm.

Personally I'd rather know right away, so then I can plan elsewhere if I really want to see a show. To each their own I suppose.

I didn't say I wasn't gonna try, just said it seems like an odd way to do it. With a lotto it's a fair luck of the draw. With this I don't even know what it depends on.
The knowing in the morning part is great, but that could, in theory, also be realized with a lottery. Open it at midnight (or some time the night before) and draw the winner at 10am. Why doesn't anybody do that? Would be so much easier for people in Jersey and LI too of they knew more than 4h in advance.
P.S. "Just suck it up and be happy they're offering something." <-- This was totally irrelevant and unnecessary.

Just for those who want to know about today tix rush- I was able to get a pair of the rush tickets today. We sat in the upper side tech area of the theater on bar stools. Definitely partial/obstructed view. They have 6 bar stools available, which I'm guessing will be the rush seats for each show.
The tickets were $30 but still had to pay a today tix fee. Paid with a credit card immediately on app. Pick up at box office starting 1 hour before show.

Great to know -- thanks!

Was on the app again at 10am and actually saw the tickets, it said "only 20 tickets left" for both matinee and evening. I clicked Buy, got "an unexpected technical error has occurred", tickets went down to 8 each. Tried again with the same result. Tried again and got. "The tickets were added to someone elses cart", then it said all tickets were gone.
Thanks bunches, TodayTix....
