I've seen the show but I am not all that familiar with it...what is the best recording to download for the best reintroduction to Pal Joey?

If you are only doing one, go for the Encores! recording with Patti LuPone and Peter Gallagher, which gives you the entire score in its original Hans Spialek orchestrations.
Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

If you’re only buying one I’d also get the Encores! cast recording. If you buy two get the studio cast recording with Harold Lang and Vivienne Segal as well.

I can't say it is the best, but I've only ever had a copy of the 1952 revival cast with Elaine Stritch doing the number "Zip," and with that I've never felt the need for another recording.
Saw the show done once maybe 15 years ago. Definitely something I would like to see it again.
