Does anyone know of good videos of amateur productions, such as pantos, where they incorporate songs of musicals into unrelated stories? They're hilariously addictive.

Yeah, some are talented. Just love the change of lyrics to fit the scene...or not.

Posted: 4/23/13 at 9:55pmMy drama club used to do that all the time back in elementary and middle school. The teacher chose a simple story or sometimes an original and then just had the characters bursting into songs whenever she felt it appropiate. We lip-synched to everyone from the Disney princesses to Ricky Martin.

Posted: 4/24/13 at 3:45amWhy do teachers and directors think it's just okay to add a song from another musical? I don't get it.

Posted: 4/24/13 at 4:39pmTo answer your question CATSNYrevival, the teachers know it's wrong and do it anyway. Why? Cause no one will catch them. I've had teachers say that to me with a straight face when they've wanted to add songs into shows I was music directing. Apparently I'm the uptight one for saying know when other staffers already said yes. It blows my mind every time.
