I'm watching the press conference. It's over already. Well, they're about to announce best picture drama.

The whole thing - with idiot banter from Mary Hart instead of Billy Bush - is on TVGuide channel.

I was watching the NBC telecast then realized Larry King was showing the press conference live on CNN.
Very happy for Depp and the film.
Sad that Alec Baldwin and Ellen Page lost.

Now that the Golden Globes have been telecast in this format, do you think they'll ever have a big ceremony again? When I first heard that they were doing it this way I was pretty bummed out, but now that they're over, I don't really miss them.

No, this will be a one-time thing. The awards ceremony is totally inane, but people tune in and NBC sells a ton of advertising time. They'll be back next year, just as annoying as ever.

Yes, the NBC telecast was awful, glad I realized they were shown on another network.
I don't think this means anything re Oscars, DREAMGIRLS got the award last year (over Oscar-nominated film LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE) and we all know what happened when the Oscar nominations came out.
I do think this means Depp probably earned an Oscar nod (ballots were already mailed). It'd be great to see him nominated for this performance.

So happy for Sweeney! There certainly were some surprises...
I hope this means Depp will get his nomination although I don't see him winning.... unfortunately.
